"The FMC does have it's plus's, like it automatically finds the heading and ILS frequency for you, you just have to tell it which runway. "There are certain disadvantages to contining with a failed engine, the aircraft is less efficient, you might not be able to reach your destination, as you would have fueled the aircraft up for a 4 engine flight. And if a 2nd engine fails that would make the fuel situation worse."
