new sounds for PMDG 744

PMDG has issued a sounds package update for the 744. They give a more powerful high bypass sound and the reverse - ooohh lala - I know - get a life Dave!

"Hi, this is the third soudn set PMDG released for the 744 (the first came with the 744 PAX, the second one with the 744F and now this one). Each one is different and none of them is right even not the new one. So PMDG seems really not to have an idea of 744 engines sounds. Inside the flight deck you still have not the typical whine you have with the GE engines for instance. PMDG better should have watched the ATLAS or POLAR Air DVD. Judging from the three sound sets I like the second one (came with the 744 F release) best. So I will switch back to it."

"Well, I dl'ed the new sound package but am hesitant to install it after Bodo's comment. I like what I have and of course am always looking to improve sound, but if it's not any better then I don't want to even try it. Anyone else tried this new sound set yet? It would be great if someone could put a demo link out so you could just go and check out the sound without having to install it first..."

"As one who has spent very little time around real 747s or any jet for that matter, i personally like the improvemtent in the sound. If you check the pmdg forum, there is an explaination as to why they sound as they do, something about the limitations of fs9."

I like it specially the reverse sound....much better.

Actually if you go in and tweak the sound like it says, its not too bad. Only bad thing is that like it warns there is some crackling on the speakers when weather is present. But other than that, its not bad."
