"Gents: Can anyone advise how many 744s BAW has in its fleet? Also, do they use the "Speedbird" callsign? Is there any way of distinguishing the cargo flights from the pax flights by callsign? Just curious... Thanks"

"Hi Rick, if I remember correctly BA uses Global Supply Systems (GSS) for its cargo ops, Atlas Air has a 49% share in GSS. Based at Stansted there are 3 747-400F in the fleet, and the callsign is Jet Lift. Regards"

"I notice that there is a Global Supply Systems (GSS) livery for PMDG on AVSIM. Has there been any thought at Globe Cargo to expanding the VA to include these aircraft and flights into the schedule, especially since Atlas owns a 49% stake? Just a thought."

As far as I know, these flights are not flown by Atlas crews so there is no plan to include these in our regular schedule. The Atlas admins, however, are free to post some BAWC flights on the Atlas board."

"If you wanted to get as close to the real thing (flying for BAWC), N495MC had the British Airways World Cargo scheme painted on it, along with the Chelsea Rose and a slogan named "Operated By Atlas Air". Ross S PS. Is 495 still in service?"

"According to Planespotters.net, N495MC became Global Supply Systems' registration G-GSSA on Jan 23, 2002. And, in January 2003, former Atlas bird N491MC became G-GSSB. So two-thirds of the GSS fleet are former Atlas aircraft. For what it's worth..."
