Do you subscribe to the Navigraph AIRAC subscription (worth 10 Euros?)

Navigraph Service - is it worth the money?

Post by Covert53 »

Looking for opinions and wisdom from fellow Globe Trotters: Is the Navigraph AIRAC subscription service NOT worth the 10 euros (approx $13. today). I'm still using AIRAC 0608 (or which ever one is the last full free one from the US government). Thanks.

"Do you have an alternative? If you do, let me know because I hate having to pay E10. I'd rather pay $10, but $1 would be better. Free would be best. Dunno, you have last August's AIRAC, I assume it will be good enough for quite a while. I know they claim we need to update our chart books and what not, but for simflying, I dunno. Most controllers don't keep current ones either, so who knows. I bought the Navigraph subscription because I like, as they say, keepin' it real. But that' me."

"Yeah I purchased the Navigraph Updates, simply for the same reason as Brian, to keep things on the real side! I think you can download upto 5 versions or releases of the Navigraph data before the account expires and once agian you have to pay for another subscription."

"Like Ross i get the latest updates we are on 0701 at the moment but as I have pointed out, in a few cases the Data doesn, t agree with FS9, just something you have to watch for !, but I would rather have it than not ! Mike"

I have it but I do not necessarily update every month. I might skip a month or two before I update again.

"I use it too. Just got 300 credits for €20 direct from Navigraph (Simmarket wanted €30 for the same !) I guess it is good to have fairly current data but every month is probably too current. Regarding the maps, it is convenient to be able to get them but most are available elsewhere (VATSIM etc.) Luc"

"You can be truly free!! Fly the -200 with the CIVA INS!! Let the Routefinder free site do the route and waypoints for you. It always has the current AIRAC. Print out the route, do some quick math in your head to change the seconds to decimal and you're in bidness :)"

I got the 1000 credits and have most of the charts. I like having them on the laptop by my side while I fly on the desktop PC. It's very easy to flip back and forth between charts. I never print them.

I just started using Navigraph for the same reason; keeping it real. I just download Airacs but are the maps good and can you download them and keep using them even if you stop the subscription?

Oui Louis! you create your own database by downloading the maps you need and they stay on your hard disk as long as you want. The system will even trigger regular backups. Maps are updated (not very regularly) and they charge 1 credit per update. salut Luc
