" .... in the real world? Mine was in October 1994, BA 747 City of Belfast from London Gatwick to Mahe, the Seychelles. A little over 10 hours. What was very cool was only 10 years ago you could have a smoking seat, so the flight didn't bother me at all <!--emo&:o--><!--endemo--> . On the way back we took off in the dark and landed in the dark, no point in looking out the windows <!--emo&:D--><!--endemo--> It seemed to me like every window on the thing rattled during the take off run, which for someone used to 737s and 757s seemed to take forever. "
" not sure if it was a 742 or 743, but longest trip for me was Amsterdam-San Francisco nonstop which was about 11 hours. Also done Amsterdam-Curacao on a 743 which is 12 hours (but with a 30 minute stop at Aruba after 11 hours). Luckily no smoking permitted as I'm pretty bad off in a smoke filled environment (I go almost blind from prolonged exposure to tobacco smoke, the filters in an aircraft are not enough to prevent that). " Just did an 11hr 19m trip from Tokyo (RJAA) to KLAX. Started it before I went to bed and landed her the next morning. I used ""I Will Be Back"" to pause it about a hundred miles out of LAX so I could start my descent. Good flight with no problems. Mark "
" We're talking real flights here (as passenger or for some maybe crew), not simulated <!--emo&:P--><!--endemo--> If you talk simulated I've completed Amsterdam-Tokyo several times, also Amsterdam-Sao Paulo. Both are 14-16 hours. "
Sorry 'bout that pal <!--emo&:P--><!--endemo--> . Read your post too fast I guess. My longest REAL world flight since you're asking? About 4 hours. Big deal huh. See ya. Mark
" we all have our ""doh!"" moments from time to time <!--emo&B)--><!--endemo--> Many US people travel long distance less often than for example Europeans. Your country is large and diverse enough that just about anything you want is relatively close. "
"Longest I have done in real life?, a (full) British Airways Buenos Aires (SAEZ) to London (EGLL, or was it EGKK?) 13:45 hours on a B777-200ER. Where did they put all that fuel???. Regards, Christian Conesa."
"Upssss <!--emo&--><!--endemo--> , I just read you asked about flights flown on a 742. About 9 or so hours from Miami to London."
"Hi guys! My longest flight in a 742 was back in 1982 when my family flew to the States. It was Helsinki (EFHK) to New York (KJFK), with a 30 minute stop at Bergen, Norway. Unfortunately, I don't remember the exact flight time anymore, but you more experienced guys probably can tell that just by looking at the origin and destination. I would guess it was something between 8 and 9 hours. Petri"
"Washington Dulles to London Heathrow in the jumpseat, and back. Really enjoyed those, climbing out on rwy30 at 262kts (V2+100). Coming back, it was 'hot' in London and they had the roof hatch open. Stuck my head out and looked around."
