"I am hoping one of the learned members of this group may be able to address this problem. When I am sitting on the tarmac my aircraft occasionaly jumps around. It doesnt matter if its a payware or default aircraft, similarly it will do it with payware & default airports. I dont recall earlier incarnations of FS doing this. Is this common & is their a way to stop it? Many thanks for all info. "

"is this a default airport? try using a different afcad file. personally I go to projectai.com's afcad section first to see if an airport is there, because they test them better than some afcads on avsim."

"Sometimes mine will just kind of appear to ""hop"" in place but doesn't leave it's actual position. It doesn't do it the whole time, just at times."

I have heard of it over the last few years but it is very uncommon. Doing a search of Flightsim.com and AVSIM.com forums may reveal something.

It happens to me sometimes but I would guess that it's an FS problem.

"do you have FS9? Have you tried patching to 9.1? supposedly the patch fixes some of those issues. I use to have them a lot, most of the time it is an afcad problem and I download a new one from either avsim, flightsim or projectai"

"Yup Im running 9.1, all drivers etc are current as well. I have seen this since I have had FS9, as I said no real problem. Just a minor irritation. I have to assume it is something about my system that causes it because it does it with both default & payware aircraft as well as default & payware sceneries. "

I seem to remember that it has to do with the CG in the plane being off and it cause FS to act up... I read it in a forum somewhere and cannot remember the details. I'll see if I can hunt that down.

"The actual glitch is supposedly in the code for the landing gear. Apparently there is some code to allow you to actually see the effect of the ground on the landing gear this includes compressing struts/shocks in the end, it will tend to go a little crazy on those from time to time and cause the aircraft to bounce around. one time when I saw this, I jokingly called it the loading bump, because it would drop on one side then the other, similar to how you'd see a small plane move (though much more dramatic) when someone is getting on. I don't know if that explains anything, but the reality is that it really has nothing to do with afcad, but I've heard that there are some scenery tricks that can reduce it or stop it. I know that it was part of the FS9 patch. I too am curious if anyone knows any fixes, because it does get quickly annoying, especially when it increases and increases without end."
