"Good morning / afternoon / evening / night everybody <!--emo&--><!--endemo--> I am Calum and have just joined GlobeCargo after deciding to go back to my "" roots "" of Cargo flying in Flight Sim. I have been with about 2 other VAs ( since starting with FS2000 in ... well , 2000 really ) and had a fantastic time at each. The first one i was in a Cargo Manager position for a breif time before moving off to Air Malta Virtual , where i have flown the PSS A320 for around 1 year , just on IVAO , gaining countless hours of experience with online procedures. Back in the real world , i am from Scotland in the U.K , and am a student at school , soon to leave , and also studying towards my Private Pilots License in a DA-20 Katana aircraft. I have always been interested in cargo operations in both real world and flight sim , as that is where i hope to start my real world career as a pilot ... flying the freight. I have been known as an ""extremely active member"" in my last two VA forums , but neither had a TS channel exclusive to it , so i look forward to also talking on that and meeting and discussing with you all <!--emo&:)--><!--endemo--> I think thats about it , any q's please lemme know and i really look forward to being a part of this VA and meeting you all. Thanks and bi for now Calum P.S To be honest , i have not actually joined the VA yet neither do i own the RFP-742. But if you look in my signature , Christmas is when i will be getting ( hopefully ) "" accepted for "" training and ( hopefully ) a job "" at GlobeCargo , because that is when i will get the RFP742 and also a computer upgrade to be able to cope with those long flights. I do however at the moment have more than enough reading material and so that shall keep my interest level very high , as well as learning the INS system ... should be interesting <!--emo&^_^--><!--endemo--> <!--emo&;)--><!--endemo--> Like i said above , "" training and a (virtual) job "" is what i am hoping for from this airline , and in return i offer a willingness to participate and a long-term future with you guys ( and gals , if any ). Also mentioned above , i am arriving from the PSS A320 package , so i know very , very little about any 747s , let alone the 747-200 , let alone the RFP package. However , i cant wait to get started into my training on the 742 procedures and technical aspects as well. I have talked far to much , i will catch you guys on TS or in the forum , bi for now. <!--emo&:P--><!--endemo-->"

"Welcome on board! I just got myself the ITVV DVD on Virgin Atlantic 747-200 flight Gatwick to Miami and return. It is a VERY good intro to the 742. If you are interested look at Simmarket, it is around ?25. A good investment ! Cheers"

Until that time, study the RFP AOM for the 742 carefully and spend a lot of time becoming familiar with the FFRATS procedures specifically (AOM section 1, starting on page 27). Knowing and understanding this system thouroughly will be a great help to you. Take your time going through the manuals and once you're done, read them again. It will take a while to digest it all. Good luck and happy studying. Mark"
