" Hi guys I understand there is some major transformations afoot, with new schedules etc but am a little confussed with the format as is. I know right now once our monthly bid flight has been completed we can just fly. An example this morning I was going to take JFK return. Found the outbound JFK flight but could not fly the return. IS this because the aircraft goes off somewhere else after this route??? Have opted for the KORD return. Might be nice if it could be arranged to do the hops as your bid if possible "

" We're working on it Liam. So far the concensus is to make the VA as in depth and realistic as possible, just as the 742 is as realistic as the RFP team could make it. It will takes some time, a bit of trial and error. As for your question. It takes a bit of digging through the schedules to find all the legs of a flight, e.g., MIA to HNL. No, I haven't dug the info up in this case, LOL <!--emo&:D-->
<!--endemo--> What I suggested to all the MIA pilots, continue to pick Atlas MIA flights, then I realised the routes aren't on the website anymore. So I don't know what to do to be honest. I did ask if anyone would like an Atlas charter flight but only got one reply, and I haven't assigned it yet, slap on the wrist for me. Kind of preoccupied with the changes that are coming plus some other things too. All I can say right now is, standby and those two flights you did are OK for now. Carry on. <!--emo&-->

It appears that few if any Polar flights are return flights. They go on elsewhere with a different flight number or a combination of the old and new number. Hopefully pilots will realize this and fly all of the related legs.

" Ralph, Can I clear something up without being too much of a pain in the butt. Actually this could also double as a suggestion. Going back to my previous question about the return legs. I understand fully that the great world of cargo is unlike the good old bucket and spade crowd in that they fly multiple legs. This is one of the key areas that attracts me to cargo flights. You said above about a virtual pilot flying all the legs which I think it a very valid and challenging idea. Now I am based at MIA under the ever watchfulland influencial atlantic swimmer <!--emo&;)-->
<!--endemo--> . If I ask for a MIA to EWR for example which has no return leg, can I also ask at the same time for it to be a complete months work. So depart ORD to EWR, then EWR to PIK, then PIK to AMS and then the reverse. So you can bid for a single flight or a months work load making it a little more varied and challenging and allow pilots from other regions to do short hops in other areas of the world other than those that they are assigned too?/ "

" Hi Liam This is one of the complex items that is currently under discussion amongst the 7 of us and has not been fully resolved yet. Most likely for the month of August we will bend what few rules we have set out or plan to implement and play some of it by ear. In the real cargo world things are done different than on PAX routes. Just how far we want or should go with realism down the road is still up in the air. I think we need to consider the pilots and their private lives and make it possible for the VA to fit into that as well as possible. If you ask the 7 of us about this matter of return flights or taking another flight from your destination, you will probably get 7 different thoughts on it. As I eluded to, August will be played loosely and we will see how it plays out. We have so much to do in the next week that we need to slow down on implementing new ideas. My reply has probably not been of a lot of help but it is all I can offer at the moment. "
