Just a quick question about the schedules since the bidding will start soon. On the schedule +1 means that the arrival is the next day. Is it correct to assumed that +3 means 3 days after and that we will have to fly to some stop over; or will others fly some of the legs? Thanks <!--emo&B)-->

" First let me say that all schedules do not have the + 1 etc. on them and I am gradually updating as many as possible to contain this added information. You are correct in reading these. If a flight departs at 23:05 and arrives at 02:30 it will show (should show) 02:30+1 which indicates the following day. If it shows 18:30+3 it indicates 3 days after the initial departure time of 23:05 It would be expected that bidding on a flight number, you would fly all of the legs even if it is a +3 flight. Of course the beauty we have in FS is resetting the time and date and continuing the legs at our own pace. We will hopefully be on an automated PIREP system by that time and I am not sure about filing for each leg yet but I presume you could send your log file in for each segment of the flight. This is as new to us as it is to you so we will all be learning at the same time. Once the PIREP system is in place I will set up a temporary test area for it so we can all become familiar with it. "

" I have a question Ralph..... and I apologise in advance if it appears stupid and not thought out....... but I was just wondering, say for example..... I've bid and been awarded the YSSY - KJFK route, which will obviously require at least one, maybe two stop overs for fuel and crew changes. As we are flying this whole route ourselves and it will probably take several days to complete..... how exactly does this work the FSACARS? I haven't tried this yet but am assuming we put the flight number in for the route....... but the leg will be something like YSSY to Taipei... (where you'd hand the plane over to another crew). Once that flight has been completed, FSACARS would send that PIREP to the VA but is logged as a different destination (possibly incorrect). The same thing would then apply because your next leg would be from Taipei to say PANC...... using the same flight # but this time the Dep point and Dest are completely different..... and finally from say PANC to KJFK. this would mean you would have 3 FSACRS flights for the entire route over say 4-5 days.... or would we save the logs and send all three at once? Just thinking out loud really......... I don't really fancy spending the best part of a week flying the route only to have FSACARS screw up the PIREPS and it be the information lost in the ether somewhere........ I would appreciate your views / advice or comments on the issue, or has anyone already tried this yet? Ian Shawcross "

Jose is arranging to have someone install the required PHP files on our server to automate the PIREP feature. Should hopefully be done in the next few days. As soon as that is ready we can all try our hand at it in a test mode so find out all the ins and outs and potential problems. Jose does see any problems and he knows what he is doing. <!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td>

I personally invisioned the same crew flying the whole flight ONE-WAY including all legs even if it is a 3 day flight. This is why I have tried to stress that weeks and days of the week be chosen carefully. If it is a 3 day flight with several legs, and the flight departs 3 or 4 days a week, only chose one day of the week to fly this flight. Perhaps only ask for 2 or 3 weeks out of the month and take a week or two off to relax or take an Atlas Charter. Of course in FS we do not need to fly as they do in the real worls and can fly each leg at any time over the course of the week by changing the date and time in FS. FSACARS also creates log files on your drive so that the information on each leg can be stored. I am sure Jose will teach us how to deal with situations and we do expect some initial difficulties in August. I need to talk to you. Can you please e-mail me at <a href='mailto:

I have a question I have not seen answered. It seems the new route system and FSACARS may require the FS day/time to be set to match the route. Will the day/time be checked? What if I fly on-line where the time is real-time? Can I still log the day/time with FSACARS even though it may not match the scheduled time? What are the recommendations for this situation? Thanks and sorry if this has been addressed already but I have not seen it.
