Okay guys! The FSX demo is out! You have to have a membership with 3d Gamers to get it from there but it can be had elsewhere for free. I'm getting it as we speak from Fileshack. 636MB. Its gonna take two hours at 100Kb/sec. but I'm sure it will be worth it. Mark

I hope you aren't joking or I will look like a fool because I am going to search all night until I find a copy! Justin"

"After a quick search, a free copy can be obtained at the official FSX website. I have it downloaded and installing now...it's so exciting
I saw on gamespot a release date of October 3rd. Justin"

"I do not know why but others seem to be some strange reluctance to actually give the download address, for those who want a copy - it is
http://www.microsoft.com/games/flightsi ... loads.html but note it is
636mb so it ain't going to be quick"

"from about an hour of playing with FSX, it looks like they fill in a lot of gaps that FS9 didn't have. A lot of little things that make a big difference (in my opinion) in the realism of the product. Half the fun of getting a new FS is finding for yourself all the cool new things it has to offer. But, I will say this much...have you ever seen it take a while for the ground to dry up after a heavy rain, or hear a jumbo take off behind you that *wasn't* a "whisper jet"?
It's worth it from what I've seen. Much more complex aircraft than the typical legacy FS models. Justin"

"I agree with Justin, I thought it was great and I only played it for 1/2 an hour! I loved the landing into St Marteen with the CRJ! I cant really complain but I would of liked to have seen the 744 in FSX but you are only limited to 4 aircraft. The ATC is amazing, it sounds way more realistic, you get ATC speaking to yourself and the aircraft around you
The best part was being able to follow real ATC rules for landing! They make you 'turn right heading 130' then on the approach to St Marteen you get asked to 'turn left heading 100'. Your FO goes through all the landing checks with you and tells you if you are above your designated speeds, its great! I am going to invest i think
Cheers, Ross S"

Excellent info guys!!! I just wanted to know if you are able to play FS9 (with no problems) after the FSX Demo installation??? Any of you try to uninstall it? It will erase some important info from FS9?? Please let me know!

"Hey Marcano, That was what I was worried about! I have had a few goes on the demo now and yep its great! i like all the views you get, If you right-click on any of the views, you get a menu bar with views, like Cockpit and then you get a selection, Cockpit/V Cockpit/Righthand Seat/Panels, its cool! I am going to try and uninstall it now and then I will startup FS9 and report back if anything has happened! I hope not tho! Cheers, Ross S"

Is there some reason that you have to uninstall the demo in order to use FS2004?

"I don't see why not, if it's not install at the same place it should not affect anything.

"FSX is a completely different program from FS2004. As far as they are concerned, the other doesn't exist from what I've seen. Another feature it will have that I found by looking in the settings/controls there's a function to assign a control to called "Transfer/accept aircraft control (multiplayer)"...any body want to fly real crews??
