Need opinions on program
"Am getting ready to purchase an AI traffic program, I know many of you all have these already and I would like some input before I decide please... What I have found is two choices on PC aviator: "2005 Traffic" Seems to have more detailed and realistic models from the screen shots, doesn't sport as many airports and airlines available as the next one listed, but I am a quality person as opposed to quanity. "Ultimate Traffic" is the other, it has more airports and airlines, but the screenshots just don't look very realistic as the other mentioned above..? All input is very welcome! I have to make my few bucks count! Thanks in advance!"
"Also check out FS Live Traffic from AirNav: http://www.airnavsystems.com/ANFS/index.htm They use real airline schedules and comes with the AI models to match. Not bad. A few bucks for a subsricption to the scheduling service which is available for daily download is required but its not painful (JMO). Kinda cool, actually. Can't speak for the others but if you like flying offline this is a good add-on."
"FS LIve Traffic looks very good I own the Traffic 2005, which I purchased because, as you said, the screenshots look alot more detailed and realistic. I dont worry too much about airports, if i want an add-on airport scenery, I either have a go at making one (like KMIA) or I download one from AVSIM."
"Also check out ProjectAI (www.projectai.com). PAI is completely free and they provide download packages with installers for each airline that they produce. You can pick and choose which airlines you would like and you can also get military and GA traffic. In addition, there's a package to remove all of the default (fake) AI traffic. PAI is also an excellent source of Afcad files to make sure you have enough gates at airports to handle all of your new traffic Justin"

Rick, I wasn´t aware of the existence of this software, I´d like to know if the software includes traffic in real time for Europe, Central and South America and Asia or only for traffic going in and out from North-America? Thanks for the info.""Covert53" wrote:Also check out FS Live Traffic from AirNav: http://www.airnavsystems.com/ANFS/index.htm They use real airline schedules and comes with the AI models to match. "The choice you make is essentially determined by what you want and where you fly. If you want real schedules then the choice is Ultimate Traffic or FS Live Traffic. FS Live Traffic provides real world traffic based on the situation when you load FS and uses data from the US only. Ultimate Traffic uses a fixed schedule based on a particular data. UT covers the whole world and the schediles are updated, for a very small fee, about 3-4 times per year. My Traffic uses random schedules, but can provide more traffic at smaller airports. It also has very good support for GA and Military aircraft. My personal preference is for Ultimate Traffic."
Re: Need opinions on program
I have Ultimate Traffic and like it a lot. You can download a new version of the real schedules online a few times a year (such as "Winter 2006") for a small fee - I think it's $5 or so. Adding more AI from ProjectAI is easy with the included tool. I replaced my UT planes with those from PAI as they look a lot better (more detail) and they're free. There is also a built in handheld arrival and departure board which you can use for planespotting at any airport.

There is no subscription fee. If you want a later schedule you purchase it. But you can miss schedules if you want.""yoni63" wrote:Michel, with ultimate traffic, am I correct that you still have to pay a subscription? I didn't see anything such as a one time fee with an option to upgrade on occasion for a fee? It sounds like a really great program, but man, that subscription...

You can download new schedules for a small fee ($5 I think) but it is not mandatory. There is no subscription. New schedules are published a few times a year, like "summer 2006" or "winter 2006" and so on.""yoni63" wrote:Michel, with ultimate traffic, am I correct that you still have to pay a subscription?
