Polar - Atlas AI flights??

"I'm still new here... so pardon the possibly old question; Has anyone created any AI files that would add all (or most) Polar and Atlas flights? (for those times when we're not on VATSIM) We could see other scheduled Polar flights. For the past year or so, I've been using FSLive traffic, and on occasion I'll see a Polar flight out of ORD.. (I suppose per the real schedule??) Wondered if anyone here has gone to all the trouble to add these flights into an AI file?.. Also would it be advisable to use the VA liveries as AI a/c?..are there AI versions available? Thanks, for any responces."

"I use Ultimate Traffic and it comes with cargo AI already, including Polar and Atlas, so there was no need for me to create it. For AI repaints, I use either Ultimate Traffic or Project AI. They are more friendly on your framerates than regular repaints. Some detailed repaints are really CPU intensive."

"I have a reasonably complete AI schedule for Atlas and Polar, but it's on my FS computer at home. I won't be home until around Tuesday. If you dont get one by then, I'll post it for you."

"Ultimate Traffic has been a nice add on, I have flown about 3 times with it and the schedules are very realistic. Actual flight numbers coincide correctly with flights etc etc, haven't seen any Polar or Atlas flights yet, but then again, you have to realize they don't fly as constant as other commercial aircraft so you really have to be at the right place and time for them to come up."

What schedule do you have? I believe freighters were added later on. I often see Polar and Atlqas planes in Amsterdam and Hong Kong. Do you see any freighters at all? Have you tried the handheld departure and arrival board yet? I think it's shift-F11 or something. Looks like a palmpilot and you can see the schedule while spotting planes at the airport."

"Michel, I don't know for sure which schedule, its whatever came on the CD. I did see some AFCAD updates available but wasn't sure what exactly they were. One said "default FS9" the other said "Add on FS9" so I was kind of confused without seeing a description of the file. I do see freighters, but just not a lot of them yet."

If you run the Ultimate Traffic utility program (the one that prints timetables by airline or by airport), it will show the date range of your schedule. You can turn on the palmpilot feature with that program as well. AFCADs are files that define the airport layout. They are mostly used for parking spots, taxi routes and holding areas. Some out-of-the-box FS9 airports have only a few gates defined and many airports have fewer gates than the real ones. You should see a lot more AI flights with UT but you may be running out of gates. Having 45 AI planes on the ground at ORD and only 15 gates would be a problem. AFCAD fixes that. There would normally be an AFCAD for the default FS9 ORD and another AFCAD file for a payware add-on ORD, since the scenery might be slightly different. If you use a default FS9 AFCAD for ORD but just installed a payware add-on ORD, you might see planes taxying in the grass instead of on the taxiway."

"I am going to try one of the add on afcads that are available and see how it goes. Also, if you are familiar with Ultimate Traffic, I only skimmed over one part, but it seemed like there is an option for taking the FS generic AI, (Orbit, Global etc) out of the picture and having only realistic AI aircraft that come with UT? It just kind of spoils it when you hear all those real world airline call signs, and then you hear "Orbit" or whatever on ATC..

"Ok, problem, I have two of them, "traffic030528.original", and one right next to it named, "traffic030528.utb" Also Louis, let me confirm, I am only trying to just move the FS9 generic stuff out so I have more slots for my ultimate traffic AI to park. So if I am making a mistake, feel free to jump in here anyone
