"Louis Bleriot was the first one to cross the channel (I believe) and actuallysurvive. It is ironic that KLM's 747-300, named after him, got the first 747 to travel by water to its retirement: Aviodrome in Lelystad Holland. http://video.google.nl/videoplay?docid= ... pr=goog-sl The plane was sold to the museum for 1 euro, the transport costed as far as I know hundreds of thousands of Euros. Volunteers who work for KLM as professional mechanics assembled the plane in the museum in their spare time. It is standing there, hooked on external power, and the cockpit is for RFP users quite familiar!! Enjoy, Wijnand"
