What's it really like to fly for Atlas?
Take a look at this video portraying what it's really like to be a freight dog. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XyV9KZLr ... ed&search= Mark
"Great Movie Mark, its a great job, I would love it, you don,t have to talk to the passengers,I remember seeing a Documentary a couple of years ago about Cargo Pilots, the Captain was about my age "60,s" too old to fly Passenger Jets in Europe but still flying Cargo, the Aeroplane seemed to be held together with Duck-tape and some of the Airfields they flew into , in Russia for example had to be seen to be believed. Real Characters like overgrown Bush Pilots. Safe Landings, Mike "
"Great idea Bryan! I'll get things going here: I'm 41, married, two kids. Have lived in the great state of Maine all my life and been flight simming since 99. I graduated from a merchant marine academy and I work as an engineer at a 600MW gas turbine power plant. I've always wanted to fly from a very early age but poor eyesight prevented me from pursuing a career in the field so now I live out my dream with GC . O.k. guys, what's your story? Mark"

"Ok, I am 43, married no kids except 2 cats (one which is checked out in the PMDG 744) , in law enforcement for 20 plus years, started flying w/USAF in aero clubs, approx 200 hours, have some turbine sim time with the Astra, and Dash 7. Was in USAF for 5 years, some SAC time, mostly assigned to the old Military Airlift Command on mobility stuff. Flew alot in the C-5 and the 130's. Did my hitch in the Orient, Texas, and Okla, with lots of stints abroad. I live now in Tulsa Oklahoma. Love to fly, just too darn expensive right now."
"OK, Im am 15, No Kids , 1 Dog - 1 Cat! In Secondary Education in the amazing county of Cornwall where I have lived all of my life. I have been flightsimming for 3 years now. I enjoy playing golf, taking the dog out whilst doing LRCs and going to the gym! I have had one sim session on the Boeing 747-400 at Virtual Aviation, and been in the flightdeck of a Virgin Atlantic 744 at JFK - at the moment, this is the closest I have been to the real thing!"
"Seems I started something ! Ok, i,m 63 tomorrow but whats behind the eyes is 23, Got two Sons and Four Grandsons with another on the way !,started my working life in the Mines but left to join the Armed Forces in 63, did all my time (6 yrs) in the Army Air Corps as a Instrument ,Electrical and Radio Technician, did a lot af Flying in Small Helicopters Sioux & Scout and the Fixed Wing was the De-Havilland Beaver "what an Aeroplane",When I went up with The Chief Instructor a friend of mine , we were on the same Free Fall Team , he used to give me the Controls, that,s where I got the Bug!, Intended to stay on and do a Pilots Course, but the Wife wouldn,t hear of it , didn,t want the Kids dragging around the World as they were of School Age. "biggest regret of my Llfe" , been retired now about 3 yrs. At the moment hoping to get some Cash together and get my PPL before I get too old but its damned expensive over here, costs about £5000:00 for the required. minimum of 45 hrs. So this is for Ross, Go for it ! don,t let anyone put you off, you only get one chance, this ain,t a Rehearsal. Shortly going to take a Small Aeroplane out of EGCC thats going to be a GAS !! queing up with the Big Boys, Safe Landings, Mike "
