Hi new to the bid form area when i open up the bid form page it comes up as select this option not to place a bid for this week being the 1 jun to the 6 jun. so i gather i cant bid till after the 1 jun

You pick the flight of your choice for the weeks listed from the drop down menu. After you've selected the flights you want, scroll to the bottom of the page and click Select (or some-such). Then, the next page will allow you to review your selections. Again, scroll to the bottom and Confirm.

If you could please sign your name and provide us with your pilot number, I could check into if you are actually eligible for bidding this month. Thanks.

Peter. Just as I suspected, you joined late enough in the month that you are not on the bid list for June. Feel free to pick Open Board and Charter flights and then bid for the July flights!

strange thx for that but when i opened up the bid page b4 the other nite it showed i had 13 hours to go b4 i could bid when i went in the next day to bid the other bid page came up so obviously u have to be online exactly when it changes to open other wise u miss out as i did

Welcome to GCVA! I think what Tomas meant was that your getting into the bid portion of the website was a mistake in the first place, as you joined too late in the month to participate in the June bids. That's why you found the window closed the next time you checked. Next month, you'll receive an email stating that the bidding period is open. When you go to the bid site at GCVA you will either be able to bid on flights for each week of that month (July) or you will be informed that your bid slot is still xx hours and yy minutes away. The bidding is according to seniority. When your bid slot is open, it will stay open until the bidding period is closed several days later. You don't have to time it just right or you miss out. However, you do have to bid before the period closes or you'll be assigned random flights. So it is best to re-visit the site once you receive the email. Then bid when you are able, since only one Captain and one FO can bid on any one flight! I hope I haven't simply re-stated what you have already figured out . This is a great VA and a really fine group of pilots -- everyone here is willing to help out if you have any other questions!

thx for ur reply jay i did get an email saying the bid forms were open so went there to check as previous post said i was 13 hr to go went next day to bid and another bid page came up guess i have to wait till next time i guess

Yeah, don't worry... you'll be up and running on the bid flights next month. In the meantime, keep on enjoying yourself with the Polar Open Board flights as well as the Atlas and Titan charters! You won't get bored for certain...my chart notebook is three volumes thick already !
