Don't you love this big mess?????

Here is where the coffee machine and Coke machine are kept. Please clean up after yourself and do not remove the magazines from this area. A good place to exchange thoughts with Operations personel and other pilots.

"If you like that... Go check this out. Oh....and check out who's logo is on the AC that did the runway incursion!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u627QT26rCs Wasn't the Aircrew's fault on either plane, Controler cleared Atlas to land on 14 and cleared United to take off on the intersecting runway. Controller "ASSUMMED" that Atlas would exit runway prior to the intersection..... They figure the clearance was right at 35 or so feet "

"According to the description, what you actually watched was an NTSB recreation. However, the voices should be actual, though they are dubbed in with the recreation to kind of make it a video. (just going by info on the clip.) Here's a story link. http://www.atc-network.com/site/index.p ... ANN_id=676 If you watch the animation on this site posted above, the voices are better."

Well, I could have used a shot of O2, because each time that controller said "You guys really need to come up here to the tower, come up here and watch the show" I started laughing so hard. I've heard that same frustration from a ground controller before one night at Dulles. I was in a Cessna 206, my first time into Dulles, and it was at night. My boss had forgotten the credit cards for the GIII so I flew up there to give them to him. I cleared 1L and called ground. I was immediately given my taxi instructions so rapidly that all I could do was stop short of YANKEE on YANKEE4. The controller told me again to pull out onto YANKEE but there was an Air France 747 coming up YANKEE. I told the controller I didn't want to pull out because the Air France was taxiing rapidly and I was afraid he'd run me down. The following radio traffic ensued. "Air France XXX, slow your taxi, I have a Cessna I need to get in front of you." "Air France XXX, slow down, sir. You have traffic." "Air France XXX, hold short of YANKEE4, do you copy?" "Air France XXX, do you read?" "AIR FRANCE!!! STOP!!! STOP NOW AIR FRANCE!!" at which point every Air France aircraft at Dulles probably locked the brakes and screeched to a halt, I know the 747 did... The flight attendant from Aft Coach probably bounced off the bulkhead in First Class. Along with a couple of drink carts. "Dulles Groun, dees eez Air Frons XXX, excuse' moi, what is zee problem ooh la la?" "I NEED TO GET A CESSNA OUT IN FRONT OF YOU SO YOU DON'T BLOW HIM HALFWAY ACROSS THE AIRPORT, DO YOU SEE HIM?" "Wee wee, Air Frons XXX oui zee heem, we will follow heem Vive Napoleon, merci beaucoup..." "Cessna 61Z, tell ya what, stay on YANKEE4 cross YANKEE, left turn onto ZULU, right turn at ZULU2 taxi to the ramp. Air France XXX dont move until I tell you to move, you copy?" "Oui oui, oui copy zir. Oui will not move until eenstructed Air France XXX." He kept that guy still until I was almost to ZULU2 before he cleared him to taxi again. Bit of a language barrier that night. I was scared shatless at the time, since I could've been squashed like a bug, but I laugh about it now :P"
