First Flight

Here is where the coffee machine and Coke machine are kept. Please clean up after yourself and do not remove the magazines from this area. A good place to exchange thoughts with Operations personel and other pilots.

"Justin, as you know most of my time was in C-152's, 172's, 182's and Piper Arrow's and Lances. I had quite a few hours unlogged in the Astra twin jet simulator. From that I jumped straight into the 742 for an outfit called Globe Cargo and now am flying the 744! 8)"

1 tire on the 744 probably weighs the same as a C-152 :) Sounds like you've got a pretty good gig flying those 747's ;)"

I just got a call that I have been taken off this flight because the captain doesn't want to do OE for just 2 legs. This is getting frustrating because this is about the 5th time that I had plans to go home but scheduling makes changes and I'm held captive in MEM for another week. They are still working on a new schedule for me and I'll post the flight(s) to track."

It's not too bad, pretty much work when I want, and fly where I want, and they even have an incentive program for pilot comfort: you can fly in your underwear or whatever you want!"

Justin, they are probably just afraid that their skills might be less then someone who is brushed up and fresh out of training! In fact, I'm sure that is it! :P"

I think we seriously have to review our uniform policy."

Flying in the cockpit in his underwear is not the problem. It's his walkarounds that raise some eyebrows. :D"

"Ok, close your eyes, sit back and clear your minds.... Now, imagine you are a pax on an Atlas Cargo flight to "somewhere".... The flight has leveled off, seatbelt signs are now off, the cockpit door just a few feet away swings open, the Pilot walks out with an empty cup in one hand as he heads for the galley coffee pot wearing his issue Globe Cargo pilot's cap, white pilot's shirt with the customary black epalets with gold striping, and a pair of Boxer briefs on! He turns back in the direction of the cockpit door, pauses as he views the Pax, nods his head in their direction as he raises the now full coffee cup in a saluting gesture and walks back in the cockpit."
