Possible problem with GCP
"I have flown 2 Polar flights from YMML to ZSPD with this new program. Each time, it logged my distance as 1,203 miles, when actually it is over 4000 miles. The time was logged correctly. Per our manual, I have flown 4X speed after reaching cruise, and then back to 1X when beginning descent. I think the program may not be logging correct miles, and perhaps going 4X might be the reason why. When I fly a DHL flight, all at 1X, it logs the correct distance. Anyone else having this problem?"

"I have the same issue with the mileage. As long as the times are correct Im cool. On another note, arent flights from MEL Atlas flights?"

I have noticed some strange distances appearing on the flight map when GCP is used. I'll look into this more but rest assured that the time logging and distance shown are completely separate functions of the program. The problem is probably in the airports.dat file and how GCP reads the coordinates of the dep/dest icao code that is entered. The distance that shows up on the flight map and what's actually logged in the pirep are different. Check your pirep to see if that distance is correct. Justin
