Good News for Classic Lovers

Here is where the coffee machine and Coke machine are kept. Please clean up after yourself and do not remove the magazines from this area. A good place to exchange thoughts with Operations personel and other pilots.

Good News for Classic Lovers

Post by nwadc10 »

Some may know that NWA had pulled the 747-200 from pax service a couple years ago while still using some for military charters. NWA has been returning some -200's to service from the desert and for the last two days in a row I've seen two different 747-200's parked at a gate in MSP. I don't know where they are operating to but it's a good sign that they've made gate space for the classic! I haven't seen a -200 at a gate for a very long time.

Hmm, I don't have any but I'll try to remember to get some if I get a break in MSP one of these days.

Reminds me of seeing the NW 742 on the ramp at Clark Air Base in the Philippines back in the early 80's. Between NW and Flying Tigers we called them all the "Freedom Birds."

The airport (KBLV Mid-America St Louis airport co-located with Scott AFB) I work at, had a NW -200 last fall for a Military Charter going to Germany. Hoping to see some Cargo flights soon with either -200's and/or -400's into the airport here soon.
