After some advice re maybe diverting
Hi,
I'm currently enroute to EGBB (flying for there event) but I'm having issues with my speed sometimes so I'm currently cruising at FL260. The FMC clearly show I will not have any fuel left at EGBB.
I'm thinking about possibly diverting but what is the procedure with regarding GCP ? And also is it only serious things you should divert with?
Do you pause it and then restart it once airborne again?
I can't find anything in the manual and just want to be sure? There is nothing else wrong with the aircraft apart from I'm flying at a low speed and Altitude which has affected my fuel?
I'm not to sure if it's because I forgot to trim the aircraft like a plonker
Many Thanks
Jason

I'm not sure, but I think that you should shut of acars where you landed. Then start a new flight from where you left to your destination and maybe make a comment at the end of the flight that you diverted.
Just my guess.

Hi Peter.
I've just landed and sent the pirep and put comment and then shall start GCP again and add another comment at the end of my original flight. Thanks for your reply.

Jason, hope it isn't too late, but I believe there is, or was an "update destination/departure" button. Change GCP to your diversion airport and depress the button. I could be wrong on this last part, and I'm not near my PC at the moment. I think once you have landed you send that updated PIREP, start a new flight, start GCP and call up the unfinished flight. Use the same button to change your "departure" this time. Fair warning I could be way off on this as my last diversion was a long time ago and with a different version of GCP

Hi Jay,
I did change the update Destination/departure in the pirep. And just sent another pirep. Like you say I'm not sure if it's the right thing to do,hopefully Justin can clarify this for me.
Cheers

Sorry I'm late to the party...
To divert using GCP, enter the new destination in the Destination field of the Preflight tab, then click the Update DEP/DEST button. That updates the new airport code across all of GCP and on the online flight map. When you land, send your PIREP as normal. When ready to continue, setup a new PIREP and use your diversion airport as your departure and carry on as normal.
