Rivers on the Side of Mountains

Here is where the coffee machine and Coke machine are kept. Please clean up after yourself and do not remove the magazines from this area. A good place to exchange thoughts with Operations personel and other pilots.

Rivers on the Side of Mountains

Post by nwadc10 »

Hey guys, just wondering what I need to fix the rivers et. al. placed in the wrong spot such as the screenshot below. I've been looking at FTX Global which I don't think will move the rivers to the valleys but would the Vector addon do it? The OpenLC? Some other product?

In the FS9 or FSX days I think I had a product that accomplished this but I don't recall what that product was.

I have a lot of the FTX sceneries and, in my opinion, they are the best you can get, although very expensive. FTX Global is the one I use. If you have a look at the videos on their site regarding FTX Global and Vectors, I can't see that much difference.

Where is that particular scenery that you show.

FTX make a lot of specific scenery for various specific areas around just about every continent now so. perhaps if you can get the scenery for that area it might help.

PS. Maybe it's a fault line, have they had any earthquakes there? :)

The area is in near Coldfoot Alaska (CXF). But I see that issue many places.

The vector product I believe will make things such as shorelines less "edgy". By that an island for instance will appear round and with bays rather than a blocky, polygon looking land mass. I don't know if that will move the rivers though or if that would be part of the FTX Global package.

It is Alaska and they had a major earthquake around 100 years ago so you never know ;)

On a side note, I bought the A2A Piper Cub (without Accu-Sim). In my screenshot above I was using the default P3D Cub which was trash on the ground. The default would be impossible to takeoff without rolling over and striking the wing tips. The A2A model is fantastic with more options such as my favorite: tundra tires.

I love the A2A stuff. Last time I looked there didn't seem to be anything specifically for P3D, I'll have another look.

Did you see this?

Check out the videos right down the bottom after the pics.

Yes, I've watched a lot of FTX videos...but not sure if they will actually move the rivers to the correct locations.

A2A does not have official P3D installers. Place a FSX.exe file in your main P3D folder and then run the A2A installer. The product will install with that and so far I don't see any ill-effects on the Piper Cub. I can't speak for other products though.

OK Ta I'll try it

John

BTW if you do get any FTX scenery, you have to be careful with the scenery levels.
