Ouch!

Here is where the coffee machine and Coke machine are kept. Please clean up after yourself and do not remove the magazines from this area. A good place to exchange thoughts with Operations personel and other pilots.

"I hope its okay, but I just need to vent. I was on an Atlas flight from Dubai to Singapore. I took off in my PMDG 744F wearing Emerates Sky Cargo colors and flew in real time and real world weather. I flew manually up to FL110 and the flight progressed according to plan. After switching to LNAV/VNAV, I tended the flight meticulously, step climbing and switching tanks at the appropriate times. I recall enjoying the view as I crossed the Indian cost north of Mumbai (very green;must be jungle down there) and continued on across the continent and out over the Indian Ocean. The cloud coverage gradually increased and I saw some thunderstorms below, but I was well out of harms way at FL370. And then, about an two short of my destination (4.5 hours into the flight), I retuned from a short meal break to see a black screen and the dreaded message, ""Microsoft Flihgt Simulator has encouneted a problem and must shut down."" Argh. Fortunately this does not happen very often, and it has never happend to me this far into a flight. But oh what a pain! Oh well, I guess I will wait a day or two and try again. Anyway, thanks for listining. Andrew"

"Yesterday, I flew my bid flight from KATL Atlanta to EGPK Prestwick. I always fly real time. The flight went VERY well. FSACARS had crashed about 1 hour before I landed, or 7 1/2 hours into the flight. #$% of a ^&*(*()) !! "

"Hi David, Yes very frustrating experience, indeed!!! it happens to all of us unfortunately. Justin our chief pilot has produced a little back up programme which logs the basic elements of each flight. I use it just in case something happens to FSACARS. Do a search on the forum, I am at work at the moment, if you can't find it I'll look for it tonight (after 18:00Z) Cheers, Luc "
