Is the Microsoft FlightSim series ending?

Here is where the coffee machine and Coke machine are kept. Please clean up after yourself and do not remove the magazines from this area. A good place to exchange thoughts with Operations personel and other pilots.

Allen said if we toast one more engine this month, he's pulling the plug on MX until we can issue enough pink slips to make up for the cost!

LOL, good to hear. I actually am coming in on the tail of this conversation, but I agree with a few of you. I think its a good thing that we will have time to get upgrades, fine tune things and enjoy what we have without having another FS version coming out. I'm still with FS9 and enjoy it just fine. Someday I'll probably go to FSX but no desire right now.

There is an online petition to MS in an attempt to save our beloved FS. While I appreciate the effort and I did sign it myself, I don't actually think that anyone at M$ cares about it.

Thanks for the link, I've just signed it too. Over 6300 people signed already. Don't know either if they care or not :(

Calm down guys! it isn,t the end of Flight Simming , just the end of the MSFS Production Line for the time being, we still have FS9 & FSX plus the numerous add-ons also Vatsim et al, as far as I,m concerned we wont feel the need to keep buying newer Versions of FS every couple of years, we can spend our money improving an already great Sim,

Before I elaborate further I need to ask you what version of FS did you actually start your FS experience with?

Well, then just imagine this situation had happened when FS98 was the latest version. One could have said nothing else was needed and there was no reason to panic. You would have not known what you were going to miss and that's the point in this discussion. On the other hand the lack of further development will eventually force companies producing payware add ons to stop their developments. So, it's not all that optimistic in the end...

What you don,t have ,you don,t miss Ralf, I,ve always approached problems thus, if it,s within my power to solve it then I,ll solve it, if it isn,t then there,s nothing I can do about it, so why waste time and energy worrying over it , that way you,ll live longer :D I don,t believe for one minute that Flt Sim is dead ! we have a pretty good product now, and as new Aeroplanes are produced no doubt the Developers will work on the principal someone will want to fly one in the Virtual World, if another FSim isn,t developed over the next few years the one we have is pretty damned good , so lets not speculate on things we can,t hope to influence and just enjoy what we have now and let the Future take care of itself ! :D

I agree with you but the next point is that it is not going to do any harm if we all sign the petition and let those people out there know that there is a strong froup of enthusiasts and potential buyers ;) When it comes to the future I prefer to take care of it myself (as far as I obviously can). That's presumably why being 37 I'm planning to try to change my career :D

Take care,
Ralf
