Folder for PIREP

Here is where the coffee machine and Coke machine are kept. Please clean up after yourself and do not remove the magazines from this area. A good place to exchange thoughts with Operations personel and other pilots.

I was only suggesting screenies so these guys that are trying to help you might see something that they recognize. It helps, that's why so many of these sites on the internet show screenies when you are trying to configure things.

To run as administrator, right click on the GCP icon and you will see an option to "Run as Administrator". This method will require you do it on every launch of the program I believe but there is another method that will run as admin every time automatically.

To run as admin permantently, right click on the GCP icon and select Properties. Select the Compatibility tab and at the bottom you will see a checkbox labeled "Run this program as an administrator". Click Apply.

Now, with Windows 7 several others have seen this Access Denied error and it's due a Windows 7 security function. I think we may have found the solution but I need to look it up and will let you know what that procedure is if the run as admin doesn't work.

You probably have set up your directories properly and the issue with Windows 7 rather than anything you are doing wrong.

EDIT: I looked up the procedure and it is what I explained above for permanently running GCP as an administrator. The trick was that after you check the box described above, reboot your computer. When this came up before, even after setting GCP to run as admin it still didn't work until rebooting so that's an important step. If this doesn't work let me know so we can try again to figure it out.

Up and running!!!

Post by peter »

All

Got the PIREP up and running - THANKS ALL FOR YOUR HELP. Each ofyou had provided a piece to the puzzle. It looks like running under adminstrator did the trick. To get it started i run as adminstrator and it works. It would be great if the procedure could be posted for others.

This ordeal started as I upgraded my rig to an i7 system - overclocked water cooled ect. Getting 25fps+ flying into KJFK with photo scenery!! Got it from Jetline Systems - they cater to flight sim world and gave me good service.

THANKS AGAIN FOR YOUR HELP

Good to hear Peter, now quit wasting time in the crew room, that MD11 isn't going to fly itself! :D

I'm glad to hear the procedure worked. Because it had been tested on only one other machine I didn't want to publish it yet. Now that it has worked for you I will add a sticky in the GCP forum but it's bed time now and that will have to wait until possibly Monday.

Thanks for letting us know that it works.
