48 hour rule.

Here is where the coffee machine and Coke machine are kept. Please clean up after yourself and do not remove the magazines from this area. A good place to exchange thoughts with Operations personel and other pilots.

OK

All I ask is; how many times does it have to appear in the forums? Surely once is enough? Plus, I received the same message in a circulated email a few days ago.

I think this sort of thing should be dealt with in personal messages, or emails to the culprits and, if considered necessary, banning them for a month or so, rather than repeating it over and over again in the forums.

If anyone, and I'm sure there are plenty here, has done any management courses, one of the first things you learn is not to tell people off in public. A general meeting, - in our case on the forum, - can be held to advise people of the problem.

After that if it continues then things are done indivdually and behind closed doors, not in public.

The trouble here is that this topic wasn't started by an administrator so I hope you aren't bad mouthing, unfairly, my administrators with that comment. Additionally, Bryan has used private messages for this very issue before and that person brought it to the general forum for all to see, Bryan is damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. That's a very tough position to be in.

Lastly, we don't have the means currently to prevent someone from selecting flights in the system. Someone can still take a flight and it won't be known until Bryan is able to administrate the boards. With that, email and the forum is all we have to contact repeat violators.

Next on Tomas' to-do list is to make major enhancements to the Atlas/Titan boards. These enhancements will include a couple of items related to this very topic to include our ability to prevent someone from selecting flights.

It's very important to myself and the rest of management that everyone understand we don't want to be a VA filled with rules because this is supposed to be a hobby. However, when members repeatedly make life harder than what is reasonable for management and at the expense of other members we are inclined to do something about it. This is the scenario we've reached here.

Hang tight, bare with us, soon you won't have to see topics like about this anymore as much of the administration will be automatic of overdue flights.

See what I mean, - now it's suggested that I'm "bad mouthing" administrators.

Justin, where is the slightest hint of bad mouthing anyone in my suggestion? Whether the topic was started by an administrator or whoever.

Anyway, I'll take my own advice and say no more.

Much of your post was about general management and how things like this should be handled. The general membership doesn't care how things should be handled on the management level so that's why I felt you were putting the crosshairs on the management team here when the topic wasn't started by one of us.

I can see how your post was intended to be spoken in generalities after re-reading it so my apologies if your intent wasn't how I took it.

No worries Justin

I'm off the subject, and enjoying my flights after a long break
