Mine has RKSI in it and comes up on flight planner as well. I do know that is one of the hard flight plans to come up with a decent route as I have been told. Check with some of the online free flight planning sights Simroutes.com or Route finder and see if they help. I just usually use my FS flight planner and then try to edit it to a more realistic flight plan. I notice that when I take flights to Europe, it tries to send me clear up and around half the world before it even begins to head in the right direction. But then again I am still trying to get the Civa INS mastered too, just not enough hours in the days!"

"yes im using fs 2004, but it does not show up in the flight planner, nor can i find it by country or when i put in the code rksi. it shows korea with 3 airports and that is all, weird. I also did notice that flights overseas send you way up over greenland, i checked last week the flight plan from katl to vabb in india and it takes you way north, over england finland then south. now i realize that it is a shorter distance to follow a curve, but that seems to me to be too far, and that is using the direct gps. is fs using reasonable routes or are they out to lunch on these.\ ed mosier 12989 <!--emo&--><!--endemo-->"

"My own personal opinion for what that is worth. LOL, is that they are out to lunch on the flights that take you up to Greenland and back down. As for the GPS flights the curve is cool to trust. I have tinkered with it and as I made some changes to the plan I saw the miles increase when your mind would have told you they should have decreased. It has to do with the curvature of the earth so I am told. But anyhow back to those long high altitude airways routes, those are just plain out to lunch in my opinion. I have generally used someone elses plan or just went GPS until I can get CIVA down good enough to use it."

<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd--> You have all heard the expression: the shortest distance between two points is a straight line. Here's an experiment to prove how the shortest distance on a globe appears to be curved. Get a string of decent length and a globe. Pick any two points on the globe. Pull the string tight so it is as straight as it will ever be. Now, connect the two points you picked with the string and ""wrap"" it around the globe from one point to the other. If you were to take a step back you would see the string appears to curve, but if you look at the string lengthwise you would actually see that the string is in a straight line (except for the curvature of the earth that remains). Therefore, the ""route"" depicted by that string is the shortest distance. Justin"

"Eddie, As Justin pointed out, the Great Circle Route is ALWAYS the shortest. It is the point-to-point equivalent, taking in to account for the curvature of the earth. Learn it, Love it, Live it, and don't forget to navigate by it! Additionally, check to see if you didn't insall FS9 with the scenery caching from the CD. If that is the case, you'll need to put in the FS9 disk that has the Korean scenery in it (not sure which one, sorry...) RKSI should show up as ""Incheon Int'l"", and not as Seoul."
