"Hi guys! I must to fly this flight (PO413, VABB-KATL) and I am searching the best route. I think that I must do 2 legs, perhaps Mumbai-Liege and Liege-Atlanta, or perhaps Mumbai-London and London-Atlanta. It would be a good solution, but I prefer to ask all of you about other alternatives. I wait impatient your answers! <!--emo&;)--><!--endemo--> Thanks in advance"

"Yes, you will definitely need a fuel stop. As to routes, there are several places to get them. You can use simroutes online. There are several others too. Try looking at the Vatsim site. There is also FSBuild and FSNavigator for PC based flight planning software."

"Hi there, In this case, I imagine that you must fill 2 PIREPs for the entire flight, one from Mumbai to the fuel stop airport, the second one from the fuel stop airport to the final destination ? And if this happens, is it possible to do the first part of the flight, the day it is scheduled, then the second part, the day after for example ? What are the rules about that ? Brgds / Stéphane"

For best efficiency in completing the overall flight look for the great circle route -- the shortest distance between two points is a straight line. If you look at the great circle route between the two points you see it practically goes right over Reykjavik, Iceland. That's usually where I stop on that trip. The runway is a little shorter than you'd like but it's doable. Look in that area for a good fuel stop, just a suggestion. Justin"

Just start your flight from VABB to your fuel stop at the scheduled departure time and plan on arriving at your fuel stop when you get there <!--emo&:)--><!--endemo--> Depart your fuel stop as soon as you can refuel, run the checklists, and grab something to eat. Whatever time you depart your fuel stop is fine, in other words there is no scheduled departure time from your fuel stop. However, you do still have a scheduled arrival time at KATL so don't waste much time at the fuel stop. Sometimes you will be departing your fuel stop the day after the departure time from your origin but don't worry about that. Justin"

"Hi José In Iceland, next to Reykjavik, you have Keflavik (BIKF). It is a nice big international airport which I like very much. A very convenient stop. They have good beer and...ask the lady behind the bar to show you the sauna! Buen vuelo!"

Shouldn't we be stopping for fuel at one of our 'regular' airports? When viable surely Polar/Atlas would fly to regular ports-of-call within the company schedule to pick up any additional loads. I don't know of any two points at the globe that cannot be reached between two of our regular airports.
