"I am getting ready to fly a EGKK to TTPP flight. I cannot find charts for TTPP anywhere. The VATSIM chart room has a link, but when you download the file, it says it is corrupt. Also, does anyone have a flightplan for this route from FSBuild? I want to buy that program, but can't afford it right now. I tried routefinder, and got the following: EGKK SID KENET UN14 MEDOG UL18 ERNAN UN550 NURSI UN551 NIBOG NATF STEAM N220B TOPPS J581 ENE J55 BOS J97 SLATN A632 TOTEM UA632 ANU UL205 POS DCT TTPP . This route is about 4,900 some miles, which is a 1,000 miles more than what the flight is listed for.. It takes me over the North Atlantic and then down the Eastern seacoast. Is there a route more direct, and if so, is there a link for those route procedures, similar to the link for NAT procedures? I know these are a lot of questions, but I really need this info to save the VA some fuel! "
"One final question. Some of the waypoints you sent are defined, for example, as 3636N. What is the actual lat/long coordinates for this waypoint? Is that a short way of defining a lat/long coordinate, and if so, how does it work? Thanks. "
"Greg, 3636N is N36:00:00 W36:00:00' 3444N would be N34:00:00 W44:00:00 and so on. Crossing the ocean there are no actual defined waypoints as on land, the waypoints used are like above, I guess it makes it easier to put in to fmcs as well as the ins. ed mosier 1287"
"This brings up a good point about charter flight distances. We use great circle distance in charter listings which I can guarantee will never match a true flight plan. The distances are for rough planning only. That being said, it shouldn't end up 1,000 miles off. "
