"Hi all, We have been working hard on the new website. In case you haven't been checking to see if any menu items work periodically here's a quick description of what now works. There are several completely new features to GC already programmed. Keep in mind that databases are not updated on the new website regularly. Data shown on it will in most cases be old. Updated items: 1. Roster: pilots are now organized by rank first, then seniority. The region system has been removed. Click on the pilots name to view their profile which includes information written by the pilot if they choose to do so. Country flags are now shown on the roster page and editable by the pilot. The achievements column has new graphics and now includes gold wings for hall of fame members. New items: 1. Edit Profile: (Pilots/Edit Profile) Here you may change your country, email address, and password. You can also enter your Vatsim ID (for use when filing a prefiled FP automatically with the new flight planner) and a text area to enter some background information on yourself if you wish (not required). 2. View profile: (click on pilot's name on roster) view the activity of the pilot in the last 7 days, month, and year along with the maximum allowed per the FAA regulations. Larger graphics for achievements are displayed as well as the profile text the pilot entered. 3. MEL: includes a copy of the FAA's Master Minimum Equipment List in PDF format. Use this to look up details on an MEL item. 4. Aircraft List and Logbooks: (Fleet/Aircraft List and Logbooks) includes tail numbers, ship number, a/c type, number of cycles (note, the Polar aircraft have the number of cycles per the real aircraft as a starting point. Subsequent cycles will be taken from our filed pireps), flight hours, engine type, SELCAL code, in or out of service, MEL items if any, and the logbook. Aircraft are separated by operator. If there are any inop items on the airplane a link will appear with the number of items inop. Follow the link to see which items are affected then reference the MEL document to determine any considerations that need to be taken prior to or during flight on that ship. The logbook link will show a history of all maintenance accomplished on that airplane. 5. Fleet Description: overview of the 742 and 744 including a "3 view" screenshot 6. Liveries: All repaints for the 744F fleet are complete and available for download. What we will be working on next: The pilot application process will be the next item we tackle. The new process will be similar in that a test needs to be passed prior to completing the application process. The major difference will be that the system will automatically assign the pilot to an admin group and possibly enter the pilot into the database allowing new pilots into the system immediately. Following that the schedule and bid system will be moved over and updated which will be a gigantic task. In the big picture, we've been focusing on enhancing old features of the airline and inventing new ones. Besides that we've been paying attention to making things easier for the pilots to accomplish. Later we will focus on making things easier and more efficient for the admins so that we can run like a well oiled machine. Any questions/comments? I'm just and email or forum post away. Justin"
