"New pilot, checking in!"

"Hi all, My name is Jonathan and I just joined the VA. I live in Chateauguay, Canada and I'm 27 years old. I ordered the Polar Air B747-400F DVD from World Air Routes last week and I can't wait to watch it and see how they operate. I own PMDG B747-400F and really enjoy it (I'm a fan, really!) which is the main reason why I joined the VA. Reading the article in CPM convinced me even more. By the way, I was curious about a few things. Having read the manuals and studied both Power Point presentations, I tried to take the indoctrination exams without any success. When I click the link, the page is empty (for both exams)! The Dispatch/Flight Planner doesn't work either. I guess that my account needs some activation by the Region Manager right? I also tried to test FSACARS yersterday evening by following the steps in the pilot manual without success. I checked the configuration and I saw that the email settings were not set which probably explain my problem. Anyway, I will try again today. Cheers, Jonathan Primeau"

"Hello Jonathan and welcome, We have a brand new site up and running and there are still a few spots here and there that are not working 100%. It would seem that the indoctrination exam pages needed a bit of tweaking. They should now work properly. The dispatcher is currently not functional and I have removed the link in the menu. As for the FSAcars ini file, just make sure you have the new file that points to globecargova.org instead of the old site at globecargo.org. The link to the download file is here:
http://www.globecargova.org/docs/FSACARS_Config.zip Good luck,"

"Great thanks for the quick answer. Just to let you know, when I applied to join the VA and when I completed the first exam, I got the confirmation email twice. I will setup FSACARS with the new config file and see if it works, Thanks again, Jonathan"

"Hum, I passed exam 2 and I got only two (13%) good anwsers. I really doubt that this is accurate because I read the pilot manual + power point presentations and I am 100% sure that all my answers are correct except for question 11 (ACMI Flights) which offers two possible answers. Let me know if there is a problem, Jonathan"

"Yep, right you are. I got a bit too copy&paste happy and copied the exam answers from test 1 straight to test 2 without changing them. Fixed..."

Jonathan Welcome to Globe Cargo...in regards to FSacars..do not use the email settings they cause us more head aches than necessary and aren't required anyway...just download the program and insert your pilot number in the GTI and PAC .ini files and away you go...if you have any issues let me know and i'll try and help you out...we'll have to update that section of the manual...rather misleading
