winds 350 23 gusting 35 kts ceiling <500ft raining cats and dogs...i tell ya folks it's been 20+ years since i've had to fly that kind of "crabbed" approach so im a little jittery about it..anyway hit the rwy on the markers stand on the left rudder and put the old girl right on the paint...final touchdown VSI -277...stuff like that always puts a huge grin on my face even when i have to remind myself it's only simulated..... :D

Not much Chief the rain washed off most of the messy bits and i have contacted maintainance to bring out a couple of rubber mallets...should be able to knock the dings out of her in no time.. Anyone who takes N492MC on her next flight may cough up a furball on engine start!!.."

"Thats pretty cool, when I was on the last part of my flight into KILN, I was seeing lots of weather on the scope! I love my WX radar!!!! It was pretty bumpy too! The late flights into KILN are so far seeing lots of DHL and ABX traffic using Ultimate Traffic. Gotta love that except parking is a bear!!!! Gotta get me one of those handicapped permits!!!!"

"The weather at HNL this afternoon was sort of like that, only it was clear and w/o rain. Wind gusts of like 40 knots difference, and it was a headwind so it was setting off my stick shaker in the -400. Crazy landings; gotta love 'em!"

"What a great scenario to land in Mike :D Thanks for sharing! I had a landing a bit like that into KORD! Had 10 knots crosswind with 17 knots headwind, the VATSIM controller cleared me for Runway 27R i think it was because I was landing in conjunction with another aircraft for 27L Had to perform and Auto Land until 600ft as I was only cleared visual  Landing was *OK* (not great ;)) You get the idea! lol"

"I actually enjoy landings like this..most of the time it's the routine "cleared ils or visual rwy xx"...yada yada yada...ZZZZZZZZZ oh we've landed ? stuff you know..throw in a little weather, reduced vis, xwinds, approaches down to minimums thats when i gets exciting in a hurry...for me i've noticed VHHH,RKSI.PANC and others like that can give an IFR pilot a good run for his money"

"There I was..... just flew a couple of hours worth, turned final for KILN, slight gusts on final, put in my last notch of flaps, on glide slope, on localizer, autopilot off, slight correction in power for a little more decent rate, and .............Crash to desktop! I love that stupid message... "If you were working on something in FS9, it might be lost" Duhhhhh "

"To desktop, never got a chance to crash on the runway! LOL, it repeated the error twice, so I am going to re-route my approach. I suspect Radar Contact... It did this one other time a long time ago, crashed to desktop everytime I would get to a certain nav spot in the flight. Who knows.."

"I rarely have a CTD, but when I have, it seems to have something to do with the display of dusk/dawn textures. I solved it by changing the time by a half hour. Whether it's an nVidia bug or a MS one, I don't know."
