Good Morning Folks !!

I'm a newbie around here, and just trying to learn the ropes so any help would be appriciated :D

Although I am a fairly seasoned VATSIM pilot haulling PAX on intercontinetal commercial routes, this haulling of cargo to various military bases is a new challange for me. (One I am looking forward to though :D :D )

I am used to using either Simroutes.com or Fltawaware.com to find my prefered routes for VATSIM. However, there do not appear to flights to military bases on those sites. Where might I find acceptable flight plans so I don't get in trouble w/ the VATSIM controllers? :(

Thanks!!

If there aren't any "preferred" routes between airports you are free to choose your own route. Use FSBuild if you have it or the free routefinder available on the web. Any other flight planning software will suffice.

Okay. I have plenty of software to create routes. It's just back when I was getting startrd on VATSIM I would create what seemed to be logical routes only to get scolded by the controllers for not using a "prefered route".

Thanks!!

Here are a couple ideas for you which you may be already familiar with. I would go get VROUTE if you don't have taht already. Interesting toolbox of all sorts of stuff to include a route database which can generate PDFs (http://www.vroute.net)

Also, I lke mirroring the real world routes that are flown. So I go to FlightAware.com (http://www.flightaware.com) and look up route histories. While they are not FAA preferred routes they are commonly flown routes and therefore can be inferred to be preferred (say that a few times fast ;-)) Flightaware tracks PAC/GTI flights so its an excellent resource IMO.

Welcome to the club!
