No more South American flights

In June 2007, DHL acquired a 49% stake in Polar and starting October 27, 2008 Polar will be flying scheduled routes for DHL. Unfortunately, our South American routes have disappeared from the schedule and you will not see them when you submit your bids for November flights. Hurry up and pick flights from the current open board if you like flying to Campinas, Santiago, Bogota or Lima. There is no way of telling when these flights will be back on the schedule. We may have to rely on the occasional Atlas charter for a while.

Not a problem on this end. Not to mention, I am still seeing MIA flights going down south on occasion.

It looks like Quito is gone too??? Too bad, what a great place to fly the 744 in and out of - challenge & scenery wise. O well. Such is life. More scenery for other locales to buy I guess. No biggie.

So, if we are loosing the South American routes, what new routes will we gain (if any)?

There are no new destinations in the new schedule, and there are 20% fewer flights. Hopefully, things will pick up soon.

There are some new destinations for Polar, that Polar hasn't been to for awhile. Most Polar's operations now will filter through ANC-JFK-ILN. The weekends Polar will operate ILN-HNL-SYD-PVG as well as LAX-TPE-HKG.
