I was just curious, as some of you may also be, how many of our members have licenses in the real world? You are able to select more than one option in the poll. There really is no reason for this poll other than to satisfy curiosity and maybe spark a discussion.

Wow, you know I'm going to college to be a pilot, and still have none of my ratings. I guess you could say I'm in the ground school section right now. Over the summer I plan to stay here and get my PPL.

Gotta love Western Michigan University. Consistently on of the top 3 flight schools in the nation.

Ah, the flight team A word of advice...don't take it too seriously. It's much more fun as a social event than as be the best event. Some bridges can be burned by taking it too seriously. When I was on the flight team our rivals were UND. UND took it to the extreme and they developed piss poor attitudes towards the other universities. If I was in charge of hiring pilots, I would consider not hiring UND grads. I've flown with captains from UND, most of my new hire class was for UND. They aren't nearly as good as they think they are, not even close...plus they will be paying off their student loans for the rest of their career. Dammit, now I just went off on a tangent. I better stop

Yeah, I joined it for networking and the gauranteed CFI job after college. $19 and hour, YAY!! Oh, and free flight time

I know where you're coming from. I try not to hate on the other schools (cough, cough, Kent State)

We're all just trying to get to the same place, why fight?

But when it comes to UND and ERAU, don't even get me started....

You forgot MECHANIC, with AIRFRAME and POWERPLANT ratings.

Ed, you get a waiver since your into race cars! I owned and drove my own ASCS sprint car for 5 years and never have got it out of my system!

Had my chance 40yrs ago in the Military, was a techie working on Helicopters, was going to do Pilot Training but the missus wanted out so the kids could get a Stable Education, ever since then its just dreaming and like Ed said looking up all the time, flown small a/c from time to time but couldn,t afford the cost of getting a Licence which over here is about £5000 for min 45 hrs

Trust me, I understand where your angst comes from. I'd like to cut off the oxygen supply of about half the current ERAU students I meet. You know, the ones who fly around violating FAR's and exceeding the limitations of the aircraft they are flying then post the video on YouTube? Or think its hilarious to make a passenger airsick and float zero-g puke all over the airplane? But since I know that they stop acting like tools around the 35th birthday I let them live. Hopefully they won't hurt anyone inbetween.

Anyway, I think you should add A&P License (Aircraft Engineer) to the list too

I got a CPL, multi-engine and instruments raitings,

I'm type rated for king air 200 (collins pro21 avionics)

and Learjet 60 type rated as well,
