N419MC came in today. I have a questions for all. I've noticed that there is 2 different "Hump sizes" on the 744. What does that mean?
Thanks
Joe

N419MC is an ex-passenger aircraft that was converted to a freighter. The 747-400 pax version had an extended upper deck. It should be noted that last night while I was at work I heard N496MC call his out and off times into Dover Operations on his way to Incirlik. AMC charters are good apparently...

Speaking of 492, i got to go inside the flight deck today. What a sight! but i did noticed some stuff, 492 flight deck seemed smaller in size as oppose PMDG model, i mean alot smaller LOL and all the switches and knobs on the overhead pnl seemed very big for the space LOL but i got to sit in the right jumpseat and was offer to sit in the pilot's seat but declined. The crew was VERY nice and showed me everything in the flight deck. i didn't mention i play with the PMDG flight model for sounding like an idiot but the Captain and FO explained everything. FMC, MFD, AP, the whole overhead pnl. It seems that 492 has been stopping by alot lately so hopefully i get another chance in the flightdeck....and with my camera. ;)

Have a good night everyone!
Joe

Hi Joe

Nect time tell them you fly the aircraft with Flightsim. I have told some crews I have met and found they were very interested in the details. As you know the simulated flight decks are very much like the real thing and are operated in almost the same way.

I promise they won't think of you as an idiot.

Regards
John

I did the same with a 757 flight crew, and the First Officer told, me that,s how he started, you only have to see how many Real Life Pilots fly Globe Cargo to realise this is a good learning tool apart from a great hobby and not at all childish, mind you some of the older guys on here inc myself my be entering our second Childhood :D but my grandson loves sitting on my knee telling me not to crash ! :D
