Diversion procedures

G'day guys

A query on diversion procedures - not sure if this topic has been addressed elsewhere in the forums but what the hell...

I recently did an SBKP-SPIM leg. The weather in SPIM was below the minima so *technically* I should have aborted the approach and diverted.

In the event that I had done so, obviously the aircraft would not have landed at the required destination - should i simply note this in the comments section of my PIREP and then fly a leg from the diversion airport to the intended destination (in this case SPIM) once the weather is above the minima?

Cheers
James

What to do is quite simple. If you are running GCP you can change the destination airport on the Preflight tab anytime prior to pirep submission. After you land, go to GCP and enter your new destination airport. Also please add a note to the pirep remarks on the Postlfight tab of GCP. Send the pirep and for that you are done.

The second and final thing to do is to notify the Atlas/DHL manager, if the flight is an Atlas/DHL division flight. After arriving at your schedule destination send Bryan a note that your flight is complete because as of right now the auto confirm can't handle diversions so the flight must be manually confirmed complete by Bryan. We have plans to add functionality to the auto confirm system that can handle 1 diversion.

If the flight is your monthly bid flight or picked up from the Polar open-board system, no notification is required.
