Hey guys,
For those that are interested in this project, the PMDG J41 was released last night. The asking price is $44.95 and it's for FSX only. The VC textures on this plane are amazing.

Good, now they can move on to something more useable.

Yeah, I'm looking more forward to their next project, the Dash-8.

Would've been more interested in it if it had a 2D cockpit.
I also agree, dont know why the J41 was chosen besides the fact that Randazzo used to fly them. Would've rather seen a 777 or maybe a more usable turboprop.

There is no 2D cockpit?!?!?!?!?

Yeah, it seems they followed Captain Sims 727 lead. I don't have TrackIR, so I prefer to fly in the 2d panels myself.

This is not good...we need to set these people straight! Unfortunately they won't listen
I don't touch VC because it's such a pain to deal with. They better not make a habit of this or the MD11 will be the last product I can buy from them, unfortunately I am quite serious.

Yeah, I hear you on that, and that's the one thing stopping me from getting the J41, although the VC does look quite stunning. I don't want to be 'forced' to get TrackIR, and I hope they don't do the same with the upcoming Dash-8 and 737NG2.

Well if there,s only the VC I won,t be getting it, i,ve tried flying just VC and it,s only viable in the small Plane,s .Cessna etc and even then its uncomfortable,

Im pretty sure that they said that this was an isolated case where there wouldnt be a 2D cockpit. I have the RealAir Duke (VC only) and it takes some getting used to, but it works. As mentioned, its only really good for smaller aircraft, which the J41 is.

Well that's good. However, is the -8 going to be considered this kind of "small plane"?

For $44 dollars I expect a 2D panel. PMDG won't be getting my $$$$ for this one. Imagine what they'd charge if there was a 2D panel????? All for an airplane that no one flies anymore in the US.

If nobody's buying it, they'll be having a 50% off sale at Christmas.
