Website Issues

I thought my desktop at home was having trouble, but the same thing has occured on my laptop and now here at work. The slideshow on the homepage appears to be down. Also, it looks like duplicate flights are being shown in the new pilots' PIREPs. I noticed that one other time, so I hope it's not becoming a chronic problem

Thanks for the heads-up. The slideshow is showing up ok in IE but not Firefox. I am sure Justin will have a look at that despite his "reluctance" to use that browser! We are also aware of the duplicate flight issue and working on a fix. It seems to be on the client-side of things. I could put in a temporary patch on the server but would prefer to wait for a permanent fix in GCP.

Weird....that's what I use is IE. Specifically IE8. I've tried Compatability View and without, still doesn't show up. Very strange.

It seems to be an issue related to Adobe Flash Player. Further checks have confirmed that it doesn't work in FF and IE8-64 bit version. IE8-32 bit version works though. Refresh the page or whatever it is called in IE. Unless we can get the player to show up consistently in all browsers, we might have to pull it...

Hi Tomas, yes, I figured it was something with Flash Player as I remember them pushing out updates to the player this week. Whatever it was they "updated" broke it, so we'll just have to wait until they "fix their fix". I just tried to reinstall Flash Player and that did not work either.

Hi Tomas,

I wanted to jump in on this and say that I also have a flight that duplicated on the roster of completed flights. I also noticed that I've gone over my hours allotment for the seven day period. Yet, when I figure up my hours from my pireps, I'm not really close to the total shown over a seven day period. In fact, you need to look back almost two weeks from today to get to 29.94 hours, and then three weeks to get to the point where I bust 30 hrs, and close to a month before I reach the total indicated for my 7 day total! I'll ask Luc to erase the duplicate, but do you have any idea why the hours don't seem to be rolling off over time?
Thanks!

Jay, some of the incorrect duplicates don't show up on the PIREP list. I have to go into the database to manually clean them out. I just ran a script on the database which cleaned out around 320 duplicate flights. Some members may notice that their hours have dissapeared and this may also affect a few people in the Hours Club. I will run the clean-up script at regular intervals until the client has been fixed.

Thanks for that, Tomas! I did see the one duplicate, but it appears I had close to 19 hours worth of duplicates that were hidden!

I also use IE8 and it worked fine for me. However, while it was working earlier today, now it doesn't appear, not even the loading icon except for a split second on initial page load. Tomas, you didn't accidentally trip over the cord for the Flash player when you were in the office did you? :o

I'll try uploading the slideshow again and see if that gets it going again. It's just a Flash slideshow so it shouldn't be a browser dependent thing.
