Just a quick note saying it's pleasure to be flying with you guys. I've only been here a month but I don't think I have checked the flight map and not seen at least 2 people flying. Nice job!

Now to finally learn the RFPB742!

hi joe,
i personally would recommend you try the POSKY /RFP merge which in my humble opinion is a far better looking model than the RFP model, also the RFP has very poor LOC intercept behaviour and very underpowered engines both of which can be cured by tweaking the CFG file but more importantly the POSKY model behaves perfectly in cruise whilst the RFP model has got serious issues in MACH MODE that i never got to the bottom off, finally gave up and moved over to the POSKY/RFP merge and will not be going back, used to get to cruise level accelerate to MACH 0.82-0.85 which ever you were flying that day in speed mode but as soon as i hit the MACH button the speed would fall back down to around M0.80 or lower sometimes, great for fuel economy but a downright pain in the ass if flying with someone using the POSKY model or the PMDG 744,only way to sort it was to stay in speed mode but i wasnt prepared to accept that myself

i think you can get the ATLAS AIR model and livery at POSKYS site (N540MC)firtted with GE50 engines or something like that,
once you get that i can send you a modified CFG file to help you out

any question just post

regards terry

EDIT MACH in bold type was changed from EPR originally posted

Thanks Terry, will have to look into the Posky merge. Might take a bit to get used to being a vc guy though. :)

Actually Terry, you fly cruise in mach mode.....
EPR mode is to be used in take off and climb, speed mode in descent and landing. Possibly you are using the wrong procedures

I merged my panel with the cls bird but only use the cls model, all parameters (except contact points and lights obviously) are rfp and it works well.

yep your totally right marko i worded my post totally wrong it was problems holding speed in mach mode not EPR like i posted

i use EPR to take off and climb then switch to speed mode using V/S the rest of the climb still practicing the IAS climb and cruise in mach mode then back to speed to descend using v/s ,
my merge is just using the poskyGE50 v4 747-200SCD something model with the rest of it RFP apart from addition of redux shckwave lighting ,new contact points and tweaks to the navigation section to help LOC capture behaviour and different oswald effiencey factor that i know off but would have to check and also i am flying this aircraft in the same way as i used to fly the full RFP model ,but am not having this loss of speed when switching to MACH mode once my speed has stabalised using speed mode, maybe the problem lies in the model,im still learning all this myself :D

my apologies i will edit the previous post

regards terry
