Hi everyone,
Thought it would be nice to introduce myself here as the newest member.
My name is Jason van Berkel, 19 years old and living in Purmerend, The Netherlands (a city close to Amsterdam). I'm currently a student in Aviation Operations, wich covers the whole pre-flight and turnaround process of a flight. Mass and balance, aerodynamics, meteo and routing are some of the subjects we get. Just halfway through my third year now, next year will me my last one. That will also be the year in wich I'm gonna do the selection for a flightschool and -hopefully- get accepted. Besides school I also work at Rotterdam-The Hague Airport wich is one of the four regional airports in The Netherlands (Besides Groningen-Eelde, Eindhoven and Maastrischt) as a Airport Operations Officer. I'm not working there on a regular basis -unfortunately- but whenever they need me I'm there to fill in.
I'm flightsimming for some time now, but online for almost six years now in IVAO. Flown all kinds of aircrafts (even a Tupolev 154M..) but the B747 is one of the most impressive airplanes of all. Although I love to fly passenger routes with it, I feel more free in choosing where I want to go by flying cargo. And after watching the Polar 747-200/400 DVD I was sold. So here I am now!
I'm looking forward to a lot of flying hours here, and how knows, a change of ever becoming a B744F captain, we'll see!
