"Hi everybody, I am a bit fast by doing this because I aint a pilot with this airline yet but wanted to great my fellow pilots. My name is Nihad I am 32 yrs old and I have bin interested and loved aviation from when I can remember. I currently live in Rotterdam near (EHRD) and work at Schiphol (EHAM). WHat do I do I'm a line maintenance mechanic with KLM and primairly work on the B743,B744 because those are the planes I am licenced to work on. I have worked on several Atlas B743 and B744 in the passed and hopefully future (all though I havent seen them around for a while). Other planes I work on r the MD11 and our baby the B767. These few weeks I have bin at the KLM school and am being trained for our new plane the B777. Hmmm what else can I share with u guy's oh in real life I am a pilot too and licences I hold r: (frozen) ATPL , CPL/IR/ME according to the JAA ,PPL according to the FAA (did almost all my flying in the US ,SC and FL) and last but not least also hold a CPL/IR/ME according to the Jordanian CAA. I have a total time of 300 + hrs and u all might know that is not enough for a job as an airline pilot so that is my problem now. Anyway hopfully u guy's know a bit about me now and can't wait to start flying for this airline. Thank u for reading this. Nihad Allush www.allush.net some of u might find this interesting is another hobby of mine this site does need a update but have bin very busy working, flying, studying <!--emo&--><!--endemo-->"

<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd--> Thank u sir for the nice words and yes the industry can be alot of fun but its also a very hard industry to say the least. I started my aviation career with Fokker and we all know how that company ended and everything bad in the world (sept. 11, war etc etc) effects this industry the first. On the career level having all the licences again without the flying hrs a job is not happening have found that out the hard way. But behind all the negative talk I would not trade it for anything else. <--- I just LOVE planes cant help it. <!--emo&:)--><!--endemo--> Hard to explaine to people who do not share the passion. Anyway hope to make alot of hrs with this great airline for some reason always had a softspot for cargo flying (has a cowboy feeling to the way the cargo pilots act) and I like that <!--emo&--><!--endemo--> Nihad"

Welcome aboard Nihad. Hopefully by now or very soon your admin team will be in contact and set you up with some routes for the month. We are still struggling with some growing pains but we are moving along faster than we had thought possible with the help of Jeff who you have already met.

"HI Nihad! I got my PPL about 3 month ago. At the moment I am doing a lot of time building 'cause I start my IR/CPL/ATPL training in late november! It is always interesting to talk to pilots from other countries to get information about the job! You wrote that you have more than 300hrs, but why isn't that enough to start as an airliner pilot? best regards"

Other european airlines have diff. excuses (italy need to speak italian, same with greece, spain ) Austria need to speak german (tyrolean,Lufthansa takes from own school). Well I do not have a problem with studying a language but I am not going to study all those languages just for an interview impossible. And the most I have heard from airlines is need at least 1500 hrs of which 500 on a plane 5700kg. another answer is bring a type rating (b737,A320) costs 40.000 euros (which I do not have). So all these things I get to hear if they even take the time to reply to my application (90% do not reply) I even went to Jordan (my origin) and got my licences there but over there a concreet answer I do not get (not a NO and not a YES) I hear dont worry about it. Cant live on that . Anyway I hope u have better luck with your career and I wish u well. regards, Nihad"

"No, sorry to say I was not a real airline pilot. I did do some Royal Canadian Air Force time back in the 1950's though. Had a small stroke that affected my speech somewhat in 1984, 2 heart attacks and 2 open heart surgeries so I suppose that would dash any hopes of re-living my past. <!--emo&:(--><!--endemo--> What the heck, I do not have as far to fall now . <!--emo&:D--><!--endemo-->"
