Region Transfers

Can anyone tell me about regional transfers? I need to know how long you have to be with Globe Cargo or in a particular region, before you can transfer to another region? I could have sworn I read that in the pilots manual but I couldn't find it.

Hi Tracy. I hope you realize that regional assignments are purely for administrative reasons and have nothing to do with where you can fly?! There should be no reason to transfer but if you still wish to do so, just let know RM know and we can easily do it for you. There is no "time requirement" or anything of that sort...

It sounds like if I want to do flights in the US or Europe or anywhere else, all I have to do is fly there and that's it. That's great. If you notice in the Globe Cargo Schedule, you have 3 sets of regions. Europe and the Middle East, North and South America, and Asia and Australia. I just assumed that when I signed up and was assigned Asia and Australia, I have to fly routes in that region only. I've been wanting to fly to the US and Europe for a while now. Its good to know, thanks!

correct me if i am wrong but i see you have already flown to the US,ie PANC alaska according to your logbook so if you were restricted to ASIA+AUSTRALIA as you thought why fly to PANC
maybe if more guys flew online they would meet up with more globe pilots an could easly ask things like this instead of waiting weeks for a reply on the forum.. just my opinion

What is the point of these comments, and checking where others have flown. I was told off for not flying enough hours a while ago and did not appreciate it.
People can fly where and when they like without others harping on about it.
If they want to fly offline or online it is up to them, - again, without others harping on about it.
Putting a "smiley" after things does not make them funny or less annoying.
Please stop suggesting what other should be doing, and just let them enjoy what they are doing, and for goodness sake, leave it alone.
Just my opinion too

John,
Terry wasn't checking out to see where others had flown...He was merely mentioning that Tracy had already flown to USA (PANC). And from reading Tracy's post from the start he was a little confused as thought with
him being under region of Asia & Australia mean't he could only fly around his specified area!!
Secondly if there was more Globe pilots who flew online then new pilots could ask us questions!! or Globe pilots use Teamspeak like there is only a selected few who use it?????

I think the issue was that the question was already answered, and he consisted on digging it up. Just because the OP flew to the US doesn't mean he knew it was correct or within GCVA policy.
The question was answered, and can be answered from searches on this forum. Saying that people would ask less questions if they flew online is an absolute assumption; nothing more, nothing less. I do all of my flights online and have only seen 1, maybe 2, GCVA pilots online - and most are always AFK. We have a perfectly good forum for that, or staff members to e-mail, or forums to search. This isn't the first time Terry has continuously hounded people for not flying online or participating in more events. John's point was that everyone has their right to fly the way we want and what we want within GCVA without the need to be harassed for it, even though we are complying to policy.

I have to admit, I'm a little tired of hearing about online flying as well. Some people do not WANT to fly online, and that's all there is to it. If you don't approve of that, well, that's your problem.

As an example of what I mean, this is something you posted..

I QUOTE...
"
John,
Well if you look at my stats via vataware for Globe then you will clearly see most of them are all online 134.73 hrs to be precise!!!!. Which makes 10.64 hrs with Globe offline!!
Now I see your last flight online for Globe was January 2011??
And I If I was to disappear then I'd disconnect from VATSIM by all means. And I do keep an eye on things during the flights.
And I wonder how many other Globe pilots will start flights and go to bed? And how many Globe pilots do you see flying online with VATSIM? Despite you don't have to fly online.
I'll admit there is the same few who do fly online. So I'd say your preaching to the wrong person there?
Regards
Jason" END QUOTE.

First. - I am not interested in looking up anyone's stats. on Vataware or anything else.
Second. - You had to have gone and checked up on what hours I have flown, to try to make some sort of a point, and in this, and other forums, you and Terry were - and still are- harping on about the online thing.
I repeat, - You have no idea what is happening in other people's lives and running up heaps of hours doesn't prove a thing.
I suggest you get on with flying for this, or any other VA or, whatever and stop telling, or suggesting to others what they should be doing.

The OP had his question answered and this is getting off topic. Locked!
