Happy birthday, Ken! My idea of the perfect birthday is getting up at 4am to lead a couple of wayward souls across the skies of Europe :) Sorry that I was only around for the first hour...I would love to hear how the approach went into Gibraltar! Devastated that I couldn't be there myself.

Quite bumpy getting tossed around on final approach as there were thunderstorms in the area making it very challenging! Made her down safely and we didn't overshoot the runway and end up in a watery grave.

That is good to know you both made it safely! I think turbulence is one of the defining feature of LXGB. I found one set charts that visually depicted what sort of wind characteristics to expect depending on the reported winds at the airport: http://http://va-transaero.ru/files/charts/LXGB.pdf. I don't expect that would be modeled, but still interesting information.
