" Hi! As I browsed through the pilot stories here in the lounge, I thought well my flights aren't so exciting! Two hours ago I had my adventure! About 15 minutes after the depature from JFK on my way to PIK (PO602): engine fire on no.3! I pulled the engine fire handle and fired one extinguisher and took the ""engine fire checklist"". The aircraft was really heavy and so I had to dump some fuel to reach the maxlaw. 20 minutes later relanding on rw 4r at JFK! I think we need a new engine on ship N859FT! best regards! "

"It's good to keep your skills sharp! I hardly ever land at weights below 600000 pounds, and occasionally practice my landings with one or even two engines out, or landings in adverse conditions. <!--emo&^_^--><!--endemo--> I have never ever diverted to my alternate and I intend to keep it that way <!--emo&B)--><!--endemo--> Also, it's always very tempting to declare an emergency when you're guided by an S1 controller on IVAO and explain to the guy why you need to fly those holdings over the North Sea <!--emo&--><!--endemo--> One gripe I have is that the yaw damper in FS needs to be treated like the one on a 707: if you want to take off or land in a crosswind you need to make sure it is OFF as you are not able to make any rudder inputs with the damn thing turned on <!--emo&<_<--><!--endemo--> Turning it ON when airborne and OFF at the outer marker is now part of my standard checklists <!--emo&:P--><!--endemo-->"

Sounds like an interesting flight Niki! I'm still waiting for my first engine failure/fire! I have a decent amount of time in the 742 and nothing! Every flight all four engines work <!--emo&:(--><!--endemo--> Maintainence will be taking a look at No. 3 and getting it fixed up for you to get that freight to PIK.
