Our Site Administrator has programmed a new Dispatch Release Generator. This will allow pilots to generator their own release form and get a copy on their hard drive within 2 minutes. The best way to test this is to get it in your hands and see how you like it. We have always planned to be the most progressive VA around and this is just another piece to the puzzle that is now in place. Lets everyone give it a try and give us your comments. It was designed to be a quick a dirty method and is relatively simple to use. Follow the prompts and a wrong entry will give you feed back as to what is required. It is not on the web menu yet but will be added as soon as we get some feedback. Dispatch Release Generator

Hi !! Seems to work nice Is there a way to get the field must be filled? For example dispacher or time out and time in. Is it supposed to insert the time i intend to eave the block?

"First pass comments:- 1. Excellent as a first cut 2. Is it possible to change the word Altitude to Flight Level? 3. May be better just to have time OUT and let the dispatcher calculate the time in? 4. On the route log Co-ordinates would be more useful in format dddmm.m (ie degrees, minutes and decimal minutes) as this fits the format for the CIVA INS (trivial but would help) Minor points - a great start "

"The time out is the scheduled pushback time (Block Off). The flight time generated is only an estimate and actual times will vary with weather etc. The Time In (Arrival) is again from the schedule. So just enter time in and out from the schedule. Flight times generated by the Dispatch Release are not taken from the times you enter but are calculated on the aircrafts average cruise speed with a buffer for taxi and climb factored in. Again, these are estimated only and are fields and information supplied by a real dispatch form. We have tried to stay true to reality wherever possible. The crew notification section is a spot where you can enter relevant information of your own and is optional."

"I dig it! Makes planning my loooooong flights less of a headache, for sure! I especially like how it generates the weight/fuel loads, and gives the weather brief. Makes running the take-off planner a whole let easier! Great job GCI!"

Great job GCI!
The fuel load should not be a total replacement for the Fuel Planner but does come close. One thing this does do is gives you a warning by reading it over if a fuel stop is required. If you see a 14 or 15 plus hour trip, you know that it must be broken down into 2 legs incorporating a fuel stop."

"Ralph, are you going to link this to the main GCI website? When I click on teh ""Dispatch Release Form"" fromthe main page, it says it's missing."

It will end up on the menu once we get a little testing done by you and your fellow pilots.

" Superb job! This is yet another example of how the RFP crew/VA definitively LEADS the VA world! I'd say that a flattering write-up should be included in Computer Pilot or something equivalent! Again, thank you for your dedication and level of professionalism. P.S. My wife still doesn't get this hobby... oh well."

"As most know, Mike Hanke is our new Site Administrator and this is just the first of many enhancements that will be coming. Mike will get limited flying time but he also enjoys the programming aspect."
