Bird Strike

"Taking off from KMIA in a Thunderstorm I actually got a BirdStrike complete with Sound Effects I couldn,t believe it ! I jumped about 3ft, totally unexpected,anybody else ever had one ? Mike

No way! Youv'e got to be kidding me mate! Seriously? You got a bird strike? I never get catostrophic events....

Hmm. What aircraft were you flying? That looks like the cockpit from the passenger version.

"That's modeled in the FS2Crew addon but not in the PMDG 744 alone. You're using FS2Crew obviously. If this is modeled in the 744 without FS2Crew it's news to me. The screenshot of your bird strike looks exactly like the one that occurs in FS2Crew. Here's a link to that shot:

Oh yes, by the way; they do have an unofficial panel.cfg edit for use in the 744F if you would like to use FS2Crew on your Polar/Atlas flights. It can be found on their forum. Mark"

"Well to answer the jokers , it happened in the clouds on climbout but I couldn,t get a clear s/shot until I hit the blue and yes it is the Passenger Version , I do occasionally relax in the the 400 without the stress of Schedules, Thanks for the Tip Mark re the .cfg File, it was FS2 Crew I was using I.ll have a look on the forum. The highest-flying bird ever recorded was a Ruppell's griffon, a vulture with a wingspan of about 10 feet; on November 29, 1975, a Ruppell's griffon was sucked into a jet engine 37,900 feet above the Ivory Coast--more than a mile and a half higher than the summit of Mount Everest. The plane was damaged, though it landed safely. Check out the Bar Headed Geese, who regularly fly over Mt Everest
