Hmmm, the first few pics had the water looking great. The next bunch had it looking very "glassy". What happened with the last bunch??? Were they trying to make bubbles in the water or something??

I agree with John, the first pics look pretty good, but then it starts to look..funky. Thats not the texture I'm running, but I did see that on flightsim last night. I think I might have something called perfect water, but I'm not sure. For a while, at high altitudes and looking down at the water, it would look like a giant golf ball pulsing into and out of view beneath the water....that was the "wave action"
. I finally did something to smooth that out. I think most water textures have trouble looking good up close when they try to simulate waves--the math involved in pulling that off well would be immense.
And Terry, if I don't ever switch screens or surf the web while flying the RFP, she appears to be stable. If I resize a screen, surf, or open another program in the background, she's gone within a matter of seconds.

hi jay,
its only the daytime textures that seem affected at sunset/rise they look great, and also they look like multiple golfballs or lights underwater pulsing away from any great height,if you could stop them pulsing it would fine
either that or i might try putting back the original texture for daytime and leave the dusk, dawn and moon textures in as its just a case of drag n drop,
maybe its the same developers as that pulsing light is what mines like too, like out of focus into focus,
this addon also claims its got amazing foam action for water landings
havnt tried that yet in 747
on a serious note i think its for amphibious aircraft as it comes with 5 test flights, but i just jamp straight into the RFP
so maybe that white blurry white things in the water must come together when you land on water to look like foam will post screenie in few mins

Yep, I agree, the sunset pics look good. As for the other ones.....well, we've graduated from "funky" to just plain "goofy"

hi jay,
its probably of no interest but as i was climbing out of PANC earlier today i noticed first of all INS3 switched itself of then closely followed by INS2
at this point i thought ok at least i will be able to make it with a single INS even though i had over 2000miles still to go when suddenly the third INS switched itself off,
,
on checking the electrical panel all 4 GEN sw had tripped off, when i reset them they stayed on but the INSs were all out of alignment so as there was no ATC on vatsim at that point i scrapped the flight and restarted it,
Now i did have the second radio master bus switched on which you said gives you random failures
but im not so sure that to loose all 4 generators mid flight is exactly random more disastorous
any way the second attempt i left radio 2 master bus sw OFF
but i can surf the interweb, watch videos, listen music, email, whatever i want without it doing this so i dont think its related to your problem but just thought id share it as it might develope into something later on
regards terry

Hi Terry,
Yeah I was doing a flight from RJBB to ULLI at the same time. I had FS crash on me suddenly, so I lost that flight as well. At a little over Nine hours projected flight time, I may have to take another point and reset the flight. Also, I have only heard it second-hand that radio 2 is the trigger for random engine failures, set at hidden geopgraphical coordinates around the world. I don't know if there are other failures modelled for RFP. Sounds to me like you had the elec panel reset, gens offline and the INS ran out of Bat power and began shedding units one by one.
EDIT- I just got done looking at the RFP forum on Avsim. Chris K. ( I think one of the development team) indicated that turning Radio2 switch ON prevents the random engine failures. My mistake.
