Reminder Regarding Approved Flight Requirements

Post by Gollum65 »

Attention All Globe Cargo VA Pilots,

Since our move to our great new website this month, we have seen a large influx of new pilots, which is really great! But with that influx we have noticed a couple of situations which violate the membership rules set forth in the GCVA Pilot's Manual, and I wanted to take a moment to remind all of you of a few requirements for flying with Globe Cargo.

1) Fleet selection: Per Chapter 6 of the PM, only authorized aircraft may be used on Globe Cargo VA flights. This is due to their systems fidelity. We do not support the use of generic "defaul" simulator aircraft because these aircraft do not simulate the real aircraft in enough detail.

As of this message, these are the ONLY aircraft you may use for Globe Cargo VA flights:

FSX/P3D: Required
● PMDG 747-400
● PMDG 747-400F
● PMDG 747-400 LCF
● PMDG 747-8
● LDS 767
● CS 767

X-Plane: Required
● VMAX 767 Pro

FSX/P3D: Optional
● PMDG 777-200
● PMDG 777-200F
● PMDG MD-11F
● PMDG 737-800
● MJC DASH 8-400
● *iFLY 747
● *iFLY 737

X-Plane: Optional
● VMAX 777 Pro

Yoiu may substitute one aircraft that has the range and capabilities of another, such as a PMDG 747-400 on a PMDG 777 route. However you cannot use a non-approved aircraft, such as a default X-Plane or MSFS 2020 aircraft. We will continue to evaluate aircraft as they become available and therefore this list will likely change in the future, but for now this is the list.

As per the pilot manual: When an unauthorized aircraft model is detected, the PIREP may be deleted.

2) Flying non-scheduled flights: We recently noticed aircraft flying with GCP but under a callsign we do not operate, on a route that not only wasn't in our flight schedule, but it wasn't even realistic given the flight paramters that were being used. With the exception of event flights, whether they be events put on by Globe or VATSIM or IVAO flights, in which a comment in your PIREP needs to be added that it was an event related flight, beyond that we do not accept non-scheduled flights for credit with GCVA. We have a vast and varied flight schedule containing hundreds, if not thousands of flights per day. Therefore non-authorized, non-scheduled PIREPs will be rejected unless prior approval for the flight is retained.

3) While "double dipping"; flying one flight but using ACARs from mutliple VAs in order to get credit for one flight from more than one VA, is not specifically prohibited by GCVA, we HIGHLY discourage it. We do monitor the websites of other VAs who simulate Polar/Atlas/Titan operations and have recently found examples of pilots completing one flight for more than one VA. If you're trying to decide which VA you like best, we urge you to do a few flights for us, and do a few flights for them, and then make a decision to go with one or the other.

4) If you are flying a route on VATSIM or IVAO, you must have "globecargova.org" in your flight plan remarks in order to get credit for that flight from GCVA. This is per Chapter 6-13 on page 55 of the Pilot's Manual

If you have any questions about these policies feel free to contact HR or Flight Ops for further clarification.
