"Poll on News thread for FSFK, or FSACARS"

Post by yoni63 »

"Couldn't vote on the News thread, but I am using FSFK and it seems to be working like a charm. I wouldn't want to bump anyone into a frenzy that is having issues and having to use FSACARS, but I think the FSFK is definitely a better tool."

"Hi guys, Could anybody who use both report systems comment a little bit about good things and bad things for each one? I am currently a FSAcars user and I can not complain about it. I have no problem with it. Thanks in advance,"

"Hi guys! I am a VERY happy FSACARS user. I have never had a single problem with it and I strongly oppose to forcing us to go to payware for this. Let's keep things as they are now, so that those who want to use FSFK can do that but FSACARS is allowed as well. Petri"

"I started with fsacars, but had problems with it losing flights, probably just didnt have something set up properly. I went to fsflightkeeper and I think for me it is a better program, does lots more. It is not without occasional problems too however. With the discount it is a good deal. I dont think someone should be required to use fsfk if they would rather use fsacars. ed mosier 1287"

"Thanks for the replies guys, I hope we get a lot more. The issue was brought on by the frustration of many people trying to use FSACARS. I started with FSACARS and it would run smooth for about a month at a time then quit. I'd have to reinstall the program to get it to work again. That's not a fun chore. FSACARS is complicated to setup and use, everything has to be just right or it won't work. To be honest, I believe we have lost a number of new pilots just because they couldn't get FSACARS to work properly or they get it to work and find that they can't finish a flight with it still running. FSFK in my opinion is a much better tool and much more stable on a wider range of systems. I understand that the latest version, 2.8, is even more stable. Those who want to continue using FSACARS please don't take my post as a decision to get rid of FSACARS. This is just my opinion on which tool works better. We will continue searching for a freeware alternative to FSACARS and may even write our own program. Justin"
