Thinking about buying FSX?

Post by rossspargo »

"Hey All, Are you thinking about buying FSX? I most certainly am :!: Getting to the point, How much are you expecting to pay? I have found the cheapest price so far in all the time that I have been looking! It is £37.39 (+£5.99 Del), $69.95 (Del. Not sure) & 55.70EUR. If anyone has found a cheaper site please let me know! This site can be found at http://www.fspilotshop.com/product_info ... cts_id=899 THIS IS FOR THE DELUXE EDITION NOT THE STANDARD! Standard Edition = £26.68 (Again +£5.99 for Del), $49.95 & 39.77EUR Thought I would let you know, Ross S"

"Yeah, I heard the same thing on one or two different forums. They say add ons are an issue on some applications. I am taking the safe route and waiting a while until they get it sorted out. Nothing more frustrating than not getting to fly the 742 or the 744."

"Hey Guys, Thanks for that, didnt know about the bugs! I may still buy it if it wont make any conflict with the 742 or 744 on FS2004. I will have to read around and see what I can find  Thanks, Ross S"

"I you have the hard drive space for it, you can safely install both versions side-by-side. I have been running FSX together with FS9 for close to two weeks now... A lot of people love FSX, a lot of people complain about performance. Probably same people who complained about FS2004, FS2002, ... There is a good posting over at the PMDG forum about some of the FSX issues and quirks... http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az= ... 2017&page="

"Hey Tomas, Took a look at the topic and as the topic starter says "GET FSX NOW" which I may do! However, there is still no patch for the 744 so looks like I may have to wait for that! If anyone knows when the patch will be released, please say! Thanks. Do you know when Ryan , the tweaker, will be releasing his information about higher FPS? Thanks, Ross S"

"I can answer my own questions now! 8) From what I can gather, there is not going to be a patch for the PMDG 744/744F. All users will have to purchase the software again for FSX. However, it will be released to all that bought it through PMDG at a lower price! Quote from the topic: "This is NOT an update to your existing PMDG 747-400 Queen of the Skies installation. This is a completely new version that brings the PMDG 747-400/400F into FSX. This version will have it's own installer, and will have it's own unique code structure that has been under development since May. We are not anticipating a lot of "new" functionality- as we've got most of the 747-400 modeled correctly already- but we may add a few new items just for fun depending upon how much time we have for such things. When this item is made available, customers who purchased the PMDG 747-400 and/or 400F directly from PMDG will be elligble for a very nice price reduction that will take place automatically in the PMDG eCommerce system. This program will be available only to customers who purchased directly from PMDG and are active in our system, obviously." http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az= ... 2153&page= This explains all. Ryan has now released his FPS improvement information for FSX in the PMDG OPS. Hope this help people in the same situation as me :!: Ross S"
